README (SKILL.md)

Translator

Overview

This skill provides professional Chinese-English bidirectional translation specialized for technical documentation. It ensures translations follow industry-standard style guides, maintain terminology consistency through a comprehensive terminology database, and adhere to technical writing best practices.

Core Translation Workflow

1. Understand the Content

Before translating:

  • Read the entire content to understand context and purpose
  • Identify the document type (API docs, user guide, tutorial, etc.)
  • Note any special terminology or technical concepts
  • Understand the target audience

2. Apply Translation Standards

For Chinese to English:

  • Use active voice and present tense
  • Address the reader directly with "you"
  • Keep sentences concise and clear
  • Follow English punctuation rules (half-width)
  • Use bold for UI elements: Button Name
  • Use code formatting for technical terms: function_name()

For English to Chinese:

  • Use formal written Chinese, avoid colloquialisms
  • Follow Chinese punctuation rules (full-width for Chinese, half-width for code)
  • Add spaces around English words in Chinese text
  • Keep technical names in English: React, API, JSON
  • Use bold for UI elements: 按钮名称

3. Ensure Terminology Consistency

Always check the terminology database first:

  • Load references/terminology.md to find standard translations
  • Use the exact translations specified in the terminology table
  • For terms not in the database, follow industry conventions
  • Maintain consistency throughout the document

For first occurrences:

  • Chinese to English: Optionally use "English (中文注释)" format
  • English to Chinese: Optionally use "中文(English)" format
  • Subsequent uses maintain the standard translation

4. Maintain Technical Accuracy

Code elements:

  • Never translate variable names, function names, or code syntax
  • Translate code comments according to target language
  • Keep string literals as-is unless they're user-facing text
  • Preserve code formatting and indentation

Technical concepts:

  • Ensure technical meaning is preserved
  • Do not add or remove information
  • Maintain logical relationships from the original
  • Verify technical accuracy over linguistic fluency

5. Format Properly

Document structure:

  • Preserve markdown formatting
  • Maintain heading hierarchy
  • Keep lists and tables properly formatted
  • Ensure links remain functional

Special elements:

  • Translate alt text for images
  • Keep code blocks untranslated (except comments)
  • Format UI paths consistently: Settings > Security
  • Use appropriate note/warning/tip formatting

2. Extract all technical terms from the text
3. Compare against standard translations
4. Identify inconsistencies
5. Provide corrections with reference to terminology database
Usage Guidance
This skill appears internally consistent and safe in terms of requested privileges: it is an instruction-only translator that uses only its bundled style/terminology files and asks for no credentials or installs. Before installing, consider: (1) test it on non-sensitive example docs to verify the translation quality and that terminology matches your product/team conventions; (2) confirm license/ownership of the included reference materials if that matters for your organization; (3) remember that translations performed by an AI agent may still be sent to the model provider (so avoid uploading confidential content unless your environment/policy allows it). If you need the skill to use company-specific terminology, ensure the terminology file is updated or replaced with your controlled glossary.
Capability Analysis
Type: OpenClaw Skill Name: lbb-my-skill Version: 1.0.1 The skill bundle is a well-structured set of instructions and reference materials designed to guide an AI agent in performing professional Chinese-English technical translations. It contains only Markdown documentation (SKILL.md, style-guide.md, terminology.md, writing-guidelines.md) and lacks any executable code, network requests, or suspicious instructions that could lead to data exfiltration or system compromise.
Capability Assessment
Purpose & Capability
Name/description (Chinese↔English technical translation) match the actual contents: an instruction SKILL.md and local reference files (style guide, terminology, writing guidelines). There are no unrelated env vars, binaries, or external services requested.
Instruction Scope
Runtime instructions are limited to translation workflows and to loading the included reference files (references/*.md). They do not instruct reading system files, calling external endpoints, or accessing credentials beyond the skill package.
Install Mechanism
No install spec and no code files — the skill is instruction-only. Nothing is downloaded or written to disk by an installer, which minimizes risk.
Credentials
No required environment variables, credentials, or config paths are declared or referenced. The included terminology/style references are local to the skill and justify the absence of external secrets.
Persistence & Privilege
Skill flags are default (always:false, user-invocable:true). It does not request permanent presence or system-wide config changes and does not claim to modify other skills or agent settings.
How to Use
  1. Make sure OpenClaw is installed (local or Docker)
  2. Run the install command in chat: /install lbb-my-skill
  3. After installation, invoke the skill by name or use /lbb-my-skill
  4. Provide required inputs per the skill's parameter spec and get structured output
