Don't use for: Non-anime media (manga, movies unless anime films).

Usage Guidance
This skill's functionality (querying the public Jikan API) is harmless in principle, but the registry package is missing the actual CLI that the SKILL.md tells the agent to run. Before installing or following the README's git-clone/symlink instructions: 1) Inspect the external repository (https://github.com/jeffaf/anime-skill) manually to ensure the scripts do only the expected curl/jq calls to api.jikan.moe and do not contain arbitrary shell commands that read files or exfiltrate data. 2) Avoid running install commands with sudo until you review the code. 3) If you want a minimal risk setup, implement your own small wrapper that calls api.jikan.moe with curl and parses JSON with jq (no external code fetch). 4) If you plan to let an agent invoke this skill autonomously, remember it will be able to run the CLI; ensure the CLI you install is the vetted one. If you want, provide the actual script content or an install spec that fetches a pinned, signed release so the package contains the runtime artifacts instead of pointing to an external repo.
Capability Analysis
Type: OpenClaw Skill Name: anime Version: 1.0.1 The skill bundle is benign. It provides a CLI for an AI agent to query the Jikan (MyAnimeList) API. The `SKILL.md` and `README.md` clearly define the skill's purpose, usage, and requirements (`bash`, `curl`, `jq`), all of which are necessary for its stated function of making API calls and processing JSON. There is no evidence of data exfiltration, malicious execution, persistence, obfuscation, or prompt injection attempts against the agent to subvert its behavior beyond the skill's stated purpose.
Capability Assessment
Purpose & Capability
Name/description (anime lookup via Jikan) align with required binaries (bash, curl, jq). No credentials or unusual system access are requested, which is proportional for a public-API lookup tool. However, the SKILL.md and README expect a local executable/scripts (scripts/anime) to be present while the published package contains only README.md and SKILL.md — the runtime artifact the agent is told to run is missing from the bundle.
Instruction Scope
The runtime instructions tell the agent to run a local CLI (./anime search, ./anime info, etc.). The package does not include that CLI. README provides manual install steps that instruct cloning from an external GitHub repo (https://github.com/jeffaf/anime-skill) and symlinking a script into /usr/local/bin. Directing users/agents to fetch and run code from an external source increases attack surface and could lead to running arbitrary code not reviewed as part of this skill package.
Install Mechanism
There is no formal install spec in the registry package (instruction-only), which is low-risk by itself. But the README's manual install (git clone a GitHub repo and symlink into /usr/local/bin) effectively delegates installation to an external source. That is a legitimate distribution method, but because the published package omits the script, it forces an external fetch — a supply-chain concern if the external repo differs from expectations.
Credentials
The skill declares no environment variables, no credentials, and no config paths. For a public, read-only lookup CLI using Jikan (no auth required), this is proportionate.
Persistence & Privilege
always is false; the skill does not request persistent system-wide privileges in the manifest. The README suggests creating a symlink in /usr/local/bin which requires filesystem write permissions (possibly sudo) — normal for installing a CLI, but the user should be aware that installation modifies system PATH locations.
How to Use
  1. Make sure OpenClaw is installed (local or Docker)
  2. Run the install command in chat: /install anime
  3. After installation, invoke the skill by name or use /anime
  4. Provide required inputs per the skill's parameter spec and get structured output
