功能描述
Printable label card for ruler stop blocks -- capture measurements, orientation, and project context so setups never get lost.
使用说明 (SKILL.md)

Ruler Stop Block Label Card

Overview

Ruler Stop Block Label Card provides a printable label for marking ruler stop block setups. When you set a stop block to a specific measurement, this card captures the measurement value, orientation arrow, project name, owner, and date -- then attaches near the stop block so the setup is never lost or confused. It works across woodworking, crafting, desk layout, and any repeat-measurement workflow.

This skill is labeling only. It does not provide cutting, drilling, or tool-use instructions.

When to Use

Use this skill when the user asks to:

  • Create a label for a ruler stop block setup
  • Prevent losing a measurement during a project pause
  • Mark a repeat cut or alignment setting
  • Organize workshop or craft desk measurements

Trigger phrases: "ruler stop block label", "mark my stop block", "label a measurement setup", "printable stop block card", "workshop measurement label"

Workflow

Step 1 -- Capture the Measurement

Ask the user for the current stop block measurement. What value does the ruler or scale read at the stop block position? If the measurement is fractional (e.g., 3-1/4 inches or 82.5 mm), record it exactly as the user states it.

Step 2 -- Confirm Orientation

Ask about the orientation of the measurement: which direction does the stop block face? Options include left-to-right, right-to-left, from-fence, from-end, or custom. This determines the orientation arrow on the card.

Step 3 -- Gather Project Context

Ask for:

  • Project name: What is this setup for? (e.g., "Bookshelf shelf pins", "Desk drawer front")
  • Owner/User: Who set this up? (name or initials)
  • Date: When was this set? (today or a specific date)
  • Notes (optional): Any special conditions -- material type, batch number, blade offset

Step 4 -- Choose Card Format

Offer two card formats:

  • Compact: 2x3 inches, minimal fields -- measurement, arrow, date
  • Full: 3x5 inches -- all fields including project, owner, notes, and a reset checkbox

Step 5 -- Generate the Printable Card

Produce a text-based printable layout including:

  • Large measurement number (centered, bold)
  • Orientation arrow (left right up down or custom text direction)
  • Project name field
  • Owner/initials field
  • Date field
  • Optional notes area
  • A "Reset after use" checkbox or reminder line

Provide the card as ASCII/markdown layout the user can copy, print, or hand-draw.

Step 6 -- Attach and Use

Instruct the user to:

  • Print or copy the card
  • Cut along the border if applicable
  • Attach near the stop block with tape, clip, or magnet (no permanent adhesive)
  • Keep visible until the setup is no longer needed
  • Check the "reset" box when done and store or discard the card

Step 7 -- Summarize and Exit

Confirm the card details. Remind the user: label the setup, not the tool -- reuse the ruler without confusion. Suggest related skills for tool organization and workshop labeling.

Safety & Compliance

  • Labeling only -- no cutting, drilling, or tool-use instructions
  • No sharp-object or power-tool guidance
  • No permanent adhesive recommendations on delicate surfaces
  • This is a descriptive prompt-flow skill with zero code execution, zero network calls, and zero credential requirements

Acceptance Criteria

  1. User provides a measurement; output includes a printable card layout with the measurement prominently displayed
  2. An orientation arrow or direction indicator is included on the card
  3. Project name, owner, and date fields are present on the full-format card
  4. A "reset after use" or completion marker is included
  5. No tool-use instructions, cutting guidance, or drill references appear
  6. Card is markdown-text printable with clear field labels

Examples

Example 1: Woodworking Repeat Cut

User says: "I set my stop block to 12-3/8 inches for shelf pins. Make me a label."

Skill guides: Capture measurement (12-3/8 in). Confirm orientation (from-fence). Gather context: project "Bookshelf", owner initials "JD", today's date. Generate full card with all fields. Include orientation arrow pointing right. Remind user to clip near the stop block, not on the ruler scale.

Example 2: Desk Layout Alignment

User says: "Need a quick label for a 45 mm desk stop. Just the basics."

Skill guides: Capture measurement (45 mm). Confirm orientation (left-to-right). Offer compact card -- measurement, arrow, date only. Generate minimal card layout. User can tape it to the desk edge temporarily.

安全使用建议
This skill appears safe to use for creating printable workshop labels. You should still review any generated label for measurement accuracy before relying on it in a physical project.
