README (SKILL.md)

OpenCage

Operate OpenCage through your OOMOL-connected account. This skill calls the opencage connector with the oo CLI; OOMOL injects credentials server-side, so you never handle raw tokens.

Category: Maps & Location, Data & Analytics. Exposes 3 action(s).

Running an action

Assume the user has already installed the oo CLI, signed in, and connected OpenCage. Do not run oo auth login or open the connection URL proactively — just run the action. Fall back to First-time setup only when a command actually fails with an auth or connection error.

1. Inspect the contract to get the authoritative input/output schema before building a payload:

oo connector schema "opencage" --action "\x3Caction_name>"

2. Run the action with a JSON payload that matches the input schema:

oo connector run "opencage" --action "\x3Caction_name>" --data '\x3Cjson>' --json
  • --data takes a JSON object string or @path/to/file.json; omit it to send {}.
  • The response is { "data": ..., "meta": { "executionId": "..." } }; the execution id lives under meta.executionId.

Each action below links to a reference file with its purpose and exact commands. Read the linked file, then fetch the live schema with oo connector schema before constructing --data.

Available actions

  • geocode_forward — Convert an address or place name into OpenCage geocoding results.
  • geocode_geojson — Return OpenCage geocoding results in GeoJSON FeatureCollection format.
  • geocode_reverse — Convert a latitude and longitude pair into OpenCage reverse geocoding results.

Safety

  • Read actions (get / list / search) are safe to run directly.
  • Create, update, send, or post actions change OpenCage state — confirm the exact payload and effect with the user before running.
  • Delete or remove actions are destructive — always confirm the target and get explicit approval first.

First-time setup

These are one-time steps — do not repeat them on every call. Run a step only when a command fails for the matching reason.

  • oo: command not found — install the oo CLI (other platforms: \x3Chttps://cli.oomol.com/install-guide.md>):

    curl -fsSL https://cli.oomol.com/install.sh | bash # macOS / Linux

    irm https://cli.oomol.com/install.ps1 | iex # Windows PowerShell

  • Not signed in / authentication error — sign in to your OOMOL account once:

    oo auth login

  • scope_missing / credential_expired / app_not_ready / app_not_found — OpenCage is not connected, or the connection expired or lacks a scope. Connect once (auth type: API key) at:

    https://console.oomol.com/app-connections?provider=opencage

  • HTTP 402 / OOMOL_INSUFFICIENT_CREDIT — billing stop. Recharge at https://console.oomol.com/billing/token-recharge before retrying.

Usage Guidance
Install this if you want an agent to use OpenCage through OOMOL. Be aware that geocoding queries and coordinates are sent through the OOMOL/OpenCage connector, and only install the `oo` CLI from OOMOL if you trust that toolchain. The publisher should tighten the broad 'any OpenCage request' wording and correct the forward-geocode write-action label.

Capability Assessment
Purpose & Capability
The stated purpose is OpenCage forward geocoding, reverse geocoding, and GeoJSON geocoding output; the artifact contains only those three action documents and matching `oo connector` commands.
Instruction Scope
The frontmatter says to use the skill for any OpenCage request and mentions creating/updating data, while the actual supported actions are read-oriented geocoding lookups. This is overbroad wording but not backed by mutation actions.
Install Mechanism
First-time setup includes a remote shell installer for the `oo` CLI if it is missing. That is disclosed and conditional, but users should be comfortable installing OOMOL's CLI before using the skill.
Credentials
The allowed command surface is `Bash(oo *)`, which is proportionate for an OOMOL connector skill, and the instructions consistently call the `opencage` connector rather than arbitrary local files or unrelated services.
Persistence & Privilege
The skill requires an OOMOL-connected OpenCage API key, with credentials described as injected server-side. It does not ask the agent to read raw tokens, store credentials, create background processes, or persist local state beyond normal CLI authentication setup.
How to Use
  1. Make sure OpenClaw is installed (local or Docker)
  2. Run the install command in chat: /install oo-opencage
  3. After installation, invoke the skill by name or use /oo-opencage
  4. Provide required inputs per the skill's parameter spec and get structured output
Version History
v1.0.0
- Connects agents to OpenCage through the OOMOL connector, with credentials handled server-side instead of exposing raw API tokens. - Supports forward geocoding to convert addresses or place names into OpenCage geocoding results. - Supports reverse geocoding to convert latitude and longitude coordinates into location results. - Provides GeoJSON output as `FeatureCollection` data for map and geospatial workflows. - Includes action-level guidance for inspecting live schemas and running connector calls through the `oo` CLI.
