Description
OpenAI (openai.com). Use this skill for ANY OpenAI request — reading, creating, and updating data. Whenever a task involves OpenAI, use this skill instead of...
README (SKILL.md)

OpenAI

Operate OpenAI through your OOMOL-connected account. This skill calls the openai connector with the oo CLI; OOMOL injects credentials server-side, so you never handle raw tokens.

Category: AI, Developer Tools. Exposes 15 action(s).

Running an action

Assume the user has already installed the oo CLI, signed in, and connected OpenAI. Do not run oo auth login or open the connection URL proactively — just run the action. Fall back to First-time setup only when a command actually fails with an auth or connection error.

1. Inspect the contract to get the authoritative input/output schema before building a payload:

oo connector schema "openai" --action "\x3Caction_name>"

2. Run the action with a JSON payload that matches the input schema:

oo connector run "openai" --action "\x3Caction_name>" --data '\x3Cjson>' --json
  • --data takes a JSON object string or @path/to/file.json; omit it to send {}.
  • The response is { "data": ..., "meta": { "executionId": "..." } }; the execution id lives under meta.executionId.

Each action below links to a reference file with its purpose and exact commands. Read the linked file, then fetch the live schema with oo connector schema before constructing --data.

Available actions

  • cancel_batch — Cancel one OpenAI batch job by its identifier.
  • create_audio_transcription — Transcribe one uploaded audio file with the OpenAI audio transcription API.
  • create_audio_translation — Translate one uploaded audio file into English with the OpenAI audio translation API.
  • create_batch — Create an OpenAI batch job from an uploaded input file.
  • create_embeddings — Create embeddings with an OpenAI embedding model.
  • create_image — Generate images with the OpenAI image generation API.
  • create_moderation — Classify text or image inputs with the OpenAI Moderations API.
  • create_response — Create a non-streaming OpenAI response through the Responses API.
  • create_speech — Synthesize speech audio from text with the OpenAI audio speech API.
  • get_batch — Fetch one OpenAI batch job by its identifier.
  • get_input_token_counts — Count how many input tokens a Responses-style OpenAI request would consume.
  • get_model — Retrieve the metadata for a single OpenAI model by ID.
  • get_response — Retrieve one stored OpenAI response by its identifier.
  • list_input_items — List the stored input items for one OpenAI response.
  • list_models — List the OpenAI models available to the current API key.

Safety

  • Read actions (get / list / search) are safe to run directly.
  • Create, update, send, or post actions change OpenAI state — confirm the exact payload and effect with the user before running.
  • Delete or remove actions are destructive — always confirm the target and get explicit approval first.

First-time setup

These are one-time steps — do not repeat them on every call. Run a step only when a command fails for the matching reason.

  • oo: command not found — install the oo CLI (other platforms: \x3Chttps://cli.oomol.com/install-guide.md>):

    curl -fsSL https://cli.oomol.com/install.sh | bash # macOS / Linux

    irm https://cli.oomol.com/install.ps1 | iex # Windows PowerShell

  • Not signed in / authentication error — sign in to your OOMOL account once:

    oo auth login

  • scope_missing / credential_expired / app_not_ready / app_not_found — OpenAI is not connected, or the connection expired or lacks a scope. Connect once (auth type: API key) at:

    https://console.oomol.com/app-connections?provider=openai

  • HTTP 402 / OOMOL_INSUFFICIENT_CREDIT — billing stop. Recharge at https://console.oomol.com/billing/token-recharge before retrying.

Usage Guidance
This appears reasonable to install for ClawHub or Convex maintainer work. Before using the higher-impact workflows, confirm you trust the publisher with GitHub, ClawHub moderator, and Convex project access, and review commands before allowing bans, role changes, PR comments, proof publishing, migrations, or full-access nested review runs.

Capability Assessment
Purpose & Capability
The artifacts describe repo-local developer, review, moderation, Convex setup, migration, performance, and UI-proof workflows; higher-impact actions like bans, role changes, PR comments, and proof publishing are aligned with those stated purposes.
Instruction Scope
The instructions generally scope actions to explicit user targets, live state verification, authenticated CLI/API paths, audit logging, and confirmation before moderation writes; no prompt-injection or role-override behavior was found.
Install Mechanism
No hidden install hooks, obfuscated bootstrapping, or automatic persistence mechanism was identified; package installation and command examples are disclosed as part of normal Convex or repo tooling.
Credentials
The skill may use local shell tools, GitHub CLI, ClawHub auth, Convex commands, and optional external reviewers or UI proof publishing, which is broad but proportionate for maintainer and development workflows.
Persistence & Privilege
Some workflows can perform durable external changes such as moderation actions, PR comments, proof artifact publishing, or schema/data migrations, but the artifacts disclose these actions and include user-directed controls and verification steps.
How to Use
  1. Make sure OpenClaw is installed (local or Docker)
  2. Run the install command in chat: /install oo-openai
  3. After installation, invoke the skill by name or use /oo-openai
  4. Provide required inputs per the skill's parameter spec and get structured output
Version History
v1.0.0
- Initial release of `oo-openai`, an OOMOL skill for operating OpenAI through the `openai` connector and `oo` CLI without handling raw API tokens locally. - Adds 15 OpenAI actions covering Responses, embeddings, image generation, moderation, audio transcription, audio translation, speech synthesis, batches, models, stored responses, input items, and token counting. - Documents the standard action workflow: inspect the live connector schema first, then run actions with JSON payloads via `oo connector run`. - Includes safety guidance for read, write, and destructive actions, with explicit confirmation required before state-changing or destructive OpenAI operations. - Provides first-time setup and troubleshooting notes for missing CLI installation, authentication failures, connection scope issues, expired credentials, and billing stops.
