OCR.space

Operate OCR.space through your OOMOL-connected account. This skill calls the ocrspace connector with the oo CLI; OOMOL injects credentials server-side, so you never handle raw tokens.

Category: AI, Productivity. Exposes 2 action(s).

Running an action

Assume the user has already installed the oo CLI, signed in, and connected OCR.space. Do not run oo auth login or open the connection URL proactively — just run the action. Fall back to First-time setup only when a command actually fails with an auth or connection error.

1. Inspect the contract to get the authoritative input/output schema before building a payload:

oo connector schema "ocrspace" --action "\x3Caction_name>"

2. Run the action with a JSON payload that matches the input schema:

oo connector run "ocrspace" --action "\x3Caction_name>" --data '\x3Cjson>' --json
  • --data takes a JSON object string or @path/to/file.json; omit it to send {}.
  • The response is { "data": ..., "meta": { "executionId": "..." } }; the execution id lives under meta.executionId.

Each action below links to a reference file with its purpose and exact commands. Read the linked file, then fetch the live schema with oo connector schema before constructing --data.

Available actions

  • extract_text — Extract text from a public image or uploaded Base64 file by calling OCR.space and returning normalized page results.
  • get_conversion_stats — Fetch OCR.space conversion statistics for the current month or the previous month.

Safety

  • Read actions (get / list / search) are safe to run directly.
  • Create, update, send, or post actions change OCR.space state — confirm the exact payload and effect with the user before running.
  • Delete or remove actions are destructive — always confirm the target and get explicit approval first.

First-time setup

These are one-time steps — do not repeat them on every call. Run a step only when a command fails for the matching reason.

  • oo: command not found — install the oo CLI (other platforms: \x3Chttps://cli.oomol.com/install-guide.md>):

    curl -fsSL https://cli.oomol.com/install.sh | bash # macOS / Linux

    irm https://cli.oomol.com/install.ps1 | iex # Windows PowerShell

  • Not signed in / authentication error — sign in to your OOMOL account once:

    oo auth login

  • scope_missing / credential_expired / app_not_ready / app_not_found — OCR.space is not connected, or the connection expired or lacks a scope. Connect once (auth type: API key) at:

    https://console.oomol.com/app-connections?provider=ocrspace

  • HTTP 402 / OOMOL_INSUFFICIENT_CREDIT — billing stop. Recharge at https://console.oomol.com/billing/token-recharge before retrying.

Usage Guidance
Install only if you trust OOMOL and are comfortable routing OCR.space requests through the oo connector. Before allowing the fallback installer, review the oo CLI install source or install the CLI yourself through a trusted channel, then connect OCR.space intentionally in OOMOL. Avoid sending sensitive images unless OCR.space/OOMOL handling is acceptable for your data.

Capability Assessment
Purpose & Capability
The skill purpose is clear: use OOMOL's oo CLI connector to run two OCR.space actions, text extraction and conversion statistics, with OCR.space credentials handled through the connected OOMOL account.
Instruction Scope
The activation wording is broad for OCR.space requests, but the runtime instructions stay focused on schema inspection and connector execution rather than unrelated behavior.
Install Mechanism
First-time setup includes curl-to-bash and PowerShell iex installer commands from cli.oomol.com when oo is missing, with no checksum, pinning, or explicit user approval requirement before running those installers.
Credentials
The declared tool scope is limited to Bash(oo *), and the normal actions are read-style OCR/statistics calls, but use requires an OOMOL account connection to OCR.space and may send user-provided image data to OCR.space through that connector.
Persistence & Privilege
No background persistence, deletion, or privilege escalation is described for the OCR actions, but installing the oo CLI and signing in would create a persistent local tool/auth setup outside the skill's own files.
How to Use
  1. Make sure OpenClaw is installed (local or Docker)
  2. Run the install command in chat: /install oo-ocrspace
  3. After installation, invoke the skill by name or use /oo-ocrspace
  4. Provide required inputs per the skill's parameter spec and get structured output
Version History
v1.0.0
- Initial `1.0.0` release of the `oo-ocrspace` skill for operating OCR.space through an OOMOL-connected account. - Adds OCR text extraction from public image URLs or uploaded Base64 files, returning normalized page results. - Adds OCR.space conversion statistics lookup for the current or previous month. - Uses the `oo` CLI connector workflow so OCR.space credentials are injected server-side and raw tokens are never handled by the agent. - Includes action references and schema-first guidance for building payloads against the live OCR.space connector contract.
