README (SKILL.md)

Hash Toolkit

All-in-one hash utility supporting multiple algorithms, Base64 encoding/decoding, UUID generation, and HMAC signing. Pure Python standard library, works offline.

Features

  • Hash Algorithms: MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-512, BLAKE2b
  • Base64: Encode and decode
  • UUID: Generate random UUIDs
  • HMAC: Sign messages with secret keys
  • Pure standard library: Zero dependencies, works offline

Usage

Hash Generation

# SHA-256 (default)
python3 scripts/hash_toolkit.py "Hello World"

# MD5
python3 scripts/hash_toolkit.py "Hello World" --algo md5

# SHA-512
python3 scripts/hash_toolkit.py "Hello World" --algo sha512

# BLAKE2b
python3 scripts/hash_toolkit.py "Hello World" --algo blake2

Base64

# Encode
python3 scripts/hash_toolkit.py "Hello World" --encode64

# Decode
python3 scripts/hash_toolkit.py "SGVsbG8gV29ybGQ=" --decode

UUID

# Generate one UUID
python3 scripts/hash_toolkit.py --uuid

# Generate 5 UUIDs
python3 scripts/hash_toolkit.py --uuid --count 5

HMAC

# HMAC-SHA256
python3 scripts/hash_toolkit.py "message" --hmac "secret-key"

# HMAC with different algorithm
python3 scripts/hash_toolkit.py "message" --hmac "secret-key" --algo sha512

Options

Option Description
TEXT Text to hash/encode
--algo Algorithm: md5, sha1, sha256, sha512, blake2 (default: sha256)
--encode64 Base64 encode
--decode Base64 decode
--uuid Generate UUID
--hmac KEY HMAC signing with key
--upper Output uppercase
--count N Number of UUIDs to generate

Security Notes

  • MD5 & SHA-1: Not recommended for security purposes (collision vulnerabilities)
  • SHA-256/SHA-512/BLAKE2b: Suitable for security applications
  • Password storage: Use bcrypt/argon2 instead of simple hashing
  • HMAC: Suitable for message authentication

中文说明

多功能Hash工具,支持多种哈希算法、Base64编解码、UUID生成、HMAC签名。纯Python标准库,无需API Key。

Usage Guidance
This skill looks safe for ordinary offline hashing, Base64, UUID, and checksum-style use. Be cautious when using real HMAC secrets because the documented interface passes the key on the command line; also avoid relying on MD5 or SHA-1 for security-sensitive purposes.
Capability Analysis
Type: OpenClaw Skill Name: hash-generator-tool Version: 1.0.0 The skill is a standard cryptographic utility providing hashing (MD5, SHA, BLAKE2), Base64 encoding/decoding, and UUID generation. The implementation in `scripts/hash_toolkit.py` uses only Python standard libraries, contains no network or file system access, and includes appropriate security warnings in `SKILL.md` regarding the use of legacy algorithms.

Capability Assessment
Purpose & Capability
The included script and documentation coherently match the stated purpose: hashing, Base64 encode/decode, UUID generation, and HMAC signing. The only sensitive capability is optional HMAC signing with a user-supplied secret key.
Instruction Scope
The instructions are straightforward command examples and option descriptions; they do not contain hidden role changes, persistence instructions, autonomous loops, or attempts to override user intent.
Install Mechanism
There is no install spec and the included Python script uses only standard-library modules. No dependency downloads, remote scripts, or package-install behavior are shown.
Credentials
The tool does not request API keys, environment variables, files, network access, or elevated privileges. HMAC keys are passed as command-line arguments, which is purpose-aligned but can expose secrets in local shell history or process listings.
Persistence & Privilege
No background services, persistent state, credential stores, scheduled tasks, privilege escalation, or account mutation behavior are present in the provided artifacts.
How to Use
  1. Make sure OpenClaw is installed (local or Docker)
  2. Run the install command in chat: /install hash-generator-tool
  3. After installation, invoke the skill by name or use /hash-generator-tool
  4. Provide required inputs per the skill's parameter spec and get structured output
