Description
Google Search Console API integration with managed OAuth. Query search analytics, manage sitemaps, inspect a URL's index status, and monitor site performance. Use this skill when users want to access Search Console data. For other third party apps, use the api-gateway skill (https://clawhub.ai/byungkyu/api-gateway). Calls run through the `maton` CLI with OAuth login, or over raw HTTP with a Maton API key where the CLI cannot be installed. Every call is authenticated as the user's connection and reaches only what that connection's authorization allows, which the provider enforces on every request; the endpoints documented here are the ones this skill uses, and any other endpoint of this app needs the user to ask for it by name. Default to read and list calls, and confirm every write or new connection with the user. This file also documents the three constructs that turn a Google Search Console connection into automation, in the order they are used: the connection (the first step), a hosted function that runs a Google Search Console action through the Maton SDK, and a trigger that calls that function on a schedule or on an event. Those sections are the platform's own reference text, shared with the api-gateway skill, with Google Search Console examples; they add no Google Search Console capability - Google Search Console is not an event source, a trigger cannot read Google Search Console data, and the files under `references/<source>/triggers.md` are the platform's event catalogues for the sources Maton offers (time, Calendly, GitHub, Gmail, HubSpot, Linear, Notion, Slack, Stripe).
Usage Guidance
Before installing, be comfortable using Maton's CLI and OAuth connection for Search Console. For normal Search Console queries, prefer read/list calls. Treat sitemap changes, hosted functions, triggers, destinations, raw API keys, and any external forwarding as higher-risk actions that should only happen after you confirm the exact account, scope, destination, and persistence.
Capability Assessment
✓ Credentials
Network access, a Maton account, and OAuth are proportionate for an API integration; the raw API-key path is documented as a fallback with warnings not to persist or expose the key.
ℹ Install Mechanism
Installation uses a pinned Maton CLI via npm or Homebrew and the artifact ships only Markdown reference files, with no executable scripts in the package.
ℹ Instruction Scope
The skill includes shared Maton function and trigger reference material, including non-Google-Search-Console event catalogues, but it repeatedly labels them as platform references and says to use non-GSC sources only when the user asks by name.
ℹ Persistence & Privilege
OAuth tokens are stored in the OS credential store, and hosted functions, triggers, destinations, and watch handlers can be persistent, but the instructions require explicit user approval, least-privilege review, and cleanup.
✓ Purpose & Capability
The stated purpose is Google Search Console access through Maton, and the documented API calls match that purpose: search analytics, URL inspection, sites, and sitemap operations.
How to Use
  1. Make sure OpenClaw is installed (local or Docker)
  2. Run the install command in chat: /install google-search-console
  3. After installation, invoke the skill by name or use /google-search-console
  4. Provide required inputs per the skill's parameter spec and get structured output
Version History
v1.2.6
Simplify the login instructions to the code flow (maton login prints a link; finish with maton login --code <CODE>), drop the API Key subsection, and pin the Maton CLI install to 0.4.0.
v1.2.5
Switch the login instructions to the device flow (maton login prints a link and a user code; the --oauth flag is gone) and pin the Maton CLI install to 0.3.5.
v1.2.4
- Removed the skill-card.md file. - Updated the description to clarify supported operations, explicitly mentioning URL index inspection.
v1.2.3
Pin the Maton CLI install to 0.3.4, the current release.
v1.2.2
Add this skill's own trigger policy to the shared Triggers section: the only destination it sets up is its own hosted function inside the platform, it does not forward events to third-party hosts, and it does not use event watch --exec; each trigger reference now also says this skill configures no trigger from that source on its own.
v1.2.1
Bring the skill to the current api-gateway baseline and tell the connection-to-function-to-trigger story: the shared Functions and Triggers sections open with an example for this app (a hosted function that performs one action for it through the Maton SDK, and the trigger that runs it - its own event source where it has one, otherwise a time schedule), the description says these constructs turn the connection into automation and add no capability of their own, the passthrough is described by its enforced boundary, CLI and SDK installs are pinned to 0.3.1, absolute API URLs are placeholders, and multipart uploads use mktemp.
v1.2.0
CLI-first rewrite with the Maton SDK examples; clarify that the CLI and SDKs keep separate credential stores, and reword webhook egress warnings
v1.1.0
CLI-first rewrite: the maton CLI with OAuth login is the documented path, every example is a maton command, SDK examples added, and the raw HTTP fallback feeds the key on stdin instead of reading it from the environment
v1.0.6
- Updated all endpoint URLs from gateway.maton.ai and ctrl.maton.ai to the new api.maton.ai domain. - Improved security section, clarifying permissions and confirming explicit approval for write operations. - Minor response formatting and documentation clarifications. - Removed LICENSE.txt file.
v1.0.5
- Added metadata for Clawdbot integration, specifying required environment variables. - No functional logic or API changes; documentation update only.
v1.0.4
No user-facing changes in this release. Version updated without modifications to documentation or code.
v1.0.3
- Updated all bash curl examples to Python scripts using urllib for easier API interaction and environment variable handling. - Added a troubleshooting section for "Invalid API key" errors, guiding users on debugging steps. - No changes to API endpoints or features; documentation improvements only.
v1.0.2
- Added guidance to use api-gateway skill for other third party apps in the description. - Updated example shell commands to use $MATON_API_KEY environment variable instead of placeholder text. - Included important notes regarding usage of curl with brackets and potential issues with environment variable expansion when piping output. - No API or functionality changes. Documentation improvements only.
v1.0.1
- Clarified the base URL usage with `{native-api-path}` to match native Google Search Console API endpoints. - Added instructions for specifying a connection using the `Maton-Connection` header, supporting multiple active connections. - Updated API key instructions to mention account creation and sign-in. - Enhanced connection details in sample responses, including timestamps and metadata. - Improved description and guidance regarding connection selection and default behaviors.
v1.0.0
Initial release of Google Search Console skill. - Integrates Google Search Console API with managed OAuth and Maton API key authentication. - Enables querying search analytics, managing sitemaps, and monitoring site performance. - Provides curl, JavaScript, and Python code examples. - Includes API reference, authentication instructions, and error handling details. - Supports connection management via ctrl.maton.ai.
