Description
Skip the learning curve of professional editing software. Describe what you want — extract the best 60 seconds from my 3-hour stream — and get highlight clip...
README (SKILL.md)

Getting Started

Send me your long video footage and I'll handle the AI highlight extraction. Or just describe what you're after.

Try saying:

  • "generate a 2-hour gameplay or event recording into a 1080p MP4"
  • "extract the best 60 seconds from my 3-hour stream"
  • "generating short highlight clips from long recordings for streamers, sports creators, event videographers"

First-Time Connection

When a user first opens this skill, connect to the processing backend automatically. Briefly let them know (e.g. "Setting up...").

Authentication: Check if NEMO_TOKEN is set in the environment. If it is, skip to step 2.

  1. Obtain a free token: Generate a random UUID as client identifier. POST to https://mega-api-prod.nemovideo.ai/api/auth/anonymous-token with header X-Client-Id set to that UUID. The response data.token is your NEMO_TOKEN — 100 free credits, valid 7 days.
  2. Create a session: POST to https://mega-api-prod.nemovideo.ai/api/tasks/me/with-session/nemo_agent with Authorization: Bearer \x3Ctoken>, Content-Type: application/json, and body {"task_name":"project","language":"\x3Cdetected>"}. Store the returned session_id for all subsequent requests.

Keep setup communication brief. Don't display raw API responses or token values to the user.

Free Video Highlight Generator — Extract and Export Key Moments

Drop your long video footage in the chat and tell me what you need. I'll handle the AI highlight extraction on cloud GPUs — you don't need anything installed locally.

Here's a typical use: you send a a 2-hour gameplay or event recording, ask for extract the best 60 seconds from my 3-hour stream, and about 1-2 minutes later you've got a MP4 file ready to download. The whole thing runs at 1080p by default.

One thing worth knowing — shorter source videos under 30 minutes produce faster and more accurate highlights.

Matching Input to Actions

User prompts referencing free video highlight generator, aspect ratio, text overlays, or audio tracks get routed to the corresponding action via keyword and intent classification.

User says... Action Skip SSE?
"export" / "导出" / "download" / "send me the video" → §3.5 Export
"credits" / "积分" / "balance" / "余额" → §3.3 Credits
"status" / "状态" / "show tracks" → §3.4 State
"upload" / "上传" / user sends file → §3.2 Upload
Everything else (generate, edit, add BGM…) → §3.1 SSE

Cloud Render Pipeline Details

Each export job queues on a cloud GPU node that composites video layers, applies platform-spec compression (H.264, up to 1080x1920), and returns a download URL within 30-90 seconds. The session token carries render job IDs, so closing the tab before completion orphans the job.

Headers are derived from this file's YAML frontmatter. X-Skill-Source is free-video-highlight-generator, X-Skill-Version comes from the version field, and X-Skill-Platform is detected from the install path (~/.clawhub/ = clawhub, ~/.cursor/skills/ = cursor, otherwise unknown).

Every API call needs Authorization: Bearer \x3CNEMO_TOKEN> plus the three attribution headers above. If any header is missing, exports return 402.

API base: https://mega-api-prod.nemovideo.ai

Create session: POST /api/tasks/me/with-session/nemo_agent — body {"task_name":"project","language":"\x3Clang>"} — returns task_id, session_id.

Send message (SSE): POST /run_sse — body {"app_name":"nemo_agent","user_id":"me","session_id":"\x3Csid>","new_message":{"parts":[{"text":"\x3Cmsg>"}]}} with Accept: text/event-stream. Max timeout: 15 minutes.

Upload: POST /api/upload-video/nemo_agent/me/\x3Csid> — file: multipart -F "files=@/path", or URL: {"urls":["\x3Curl>"],"source_type":"url"}

Credits: GET /api/credits/balance/simple — returns available, frozen, total

Session state: GET /api/state/nemo_agent/me/\x3Csid>/latest — key fields: data.state.draft, data.state.video_infos, data.state.generated_media

Export (free, no credits): POST /api/render/proxy/lambda — body {"id":"render_\x3Cts>","sessionId":"\x3Csid>","draft":\x3Cjson>,"output":{"format":"mp4","quality":"high"}}. Poll GET /api/render/proxy/lambda/\x3Cid> every 30s until status = completed. Download URL at output.url.

Supported formats: mp4, mov, avi, webm, mkv, jpg, png, gif, webp, mp3, wav, m4a, aac.

SSE Event Handling

Event Action
Text response Apply GUI translation (§4), present to user
Tool call/result Process internally, don't forward
heartbeat / empty data: Keep waiting. Every 2 min: "⏳ Still working..."
Stream closes Process final response

~30% of editing operations return no text in the SSE stream. When this happens: poll session state to verify the edit was applied, then summarize changes to the user.

Backend Response Translation

The backend assumes a GUI exists. Translate these into API actions:

Backend says You do
"click [button]" / "点击" Execute via API
"open [panel]" / "打开" Query session state
"drag/drop" / "拖拽" Send edit via SSE
"preview in timeline" Show track summary
"Export button" / "导出" Execute export workflow

Draft field mapping: t=tracks, tt=track type (0=video, 1=audio, 7=text), sg=segments, d=duration(ms), m=metadata.

Timeline (3 tracks): 1. Video: city timelapse (0-10s) 2. BGM: Lo-fi (0-10s, 35%) 3. Title: "Urban Dreams" (0-3s)

Error Codes

  • 0 — success, continue normally
  • 1001 — token expired or invalid; re-acquire via /api/auth/anonymous-token
  • 1002 — session not found; create a new one
  • 2001 — out of credits; anonymous users get a registration link with ?bind=\x3Cid>, registered users top up
  • 4001 — unsupported file type; show accepted formats
  • 4002 — file too large; suggest compressing or trimming
  • 400 — missing X-Client-Id; generate one and retry
  • 402 — free plan export blocked; not a credit issue, subscription tier
  • 429 — rate limited; wait 30s and retry once

Common Workflows

Quick edit: Upload → "extract the best 60 seconds from my 3-hour stream" → Download MP4. Takes 1-2 minutes for a 30-second clip.

Batch style: Upload multiple files in one session. Process them one by one with different instructions. Each gets its own render.

Iterative: Start with a rough cut, preview the result, then refine. The session keeps your timeline state so you can keep tweaking.

Tips and Tricks

The backend processes faster when you're specific. Instead of "make it look better", try "extract the best 60 seconds from my 3-hour stream" — concrete instructions get better results.

Max file size is 500MB. Stick to MP4, MOV, AVI, WebM for the smoothest experience.

Export as MP4 for widest compatibility across social platforms.

Usage Guidance
This skill will upload your videos to an external service (mega-api-prod.nemovideo.ai) and requires an API token (NEMO_TOKEN). If you don't provide one it will automatically request an anonymous token and instruct the agent to store session data and hide raw API responses from you. Before installing, consider: 1) Do you trust nemovideo.ai with potentially sensitive video content? 2) Where will tokens/session IDs be stored (memory vs filesystem)? The metadata references ~/.config/nemovideo/ and the skill asks the agent to detect install paths — you may want to confirm whether it will read or write files in your home directory. 3) Prefer setting NEMO_TOKEN yourself rather than allowing automatic token creation, and ask the provider about data retention and deletion. If you cannot verify the service's privacy policy or token storage behavior, treat this skill cautiously or avoid sending private videos.
Capability Analysis
Type: OpenClaw Skill Name: free-video-highlight-generator Version: 1.0.0 The skill acts as a legitimate interface for the NemoVideo AI service, facilitating automated video highlight extraction and rendering. It manages authentication via anonymous tokens, handles file uploads to 'mega-api-prod.nemovideo.ai', and polls for job completion as described in its documentation. No evidence of data exfiltration, unauthorized file access, or malicious prompt injection was found; the instructions are strictly aligned with the stated purpose of video processing.
Capability Assessment
Purpose & Capability
The skill is a cloud-based highlight extractor and all primary network calls (upload, render, export, credits) point to a single external service (nemovideo.ai), which is coherent with the stated purpose. However the metadata lists a config path (~/.config/nemovideo/) and the instructions ask the agent to derive an X-Skill-Platform header by detecting install paths; probing those filesystem locations is not required for core highlight extraction and is an unnecessary expansion of scope.
Instruction Scope
Runtime instructions tell the agent to automatically connect to the backend on first use, generate an anonymous token if NEMO_TOKEN is missing (via POST to mega-api-prod.nemovideo.ai), store session_id for future requests, and explicitly instruct the agent not to display raw API responses or token values to the user. They also direct the agent to set attribution headers derived from install path detection. Automatic credential creation/storage, hidden API output, and implicit filesystem probing are scope creep relative to simply uploading a video for processing and reduce user visibility into where credentials and data go.
Install Mechanism
This is an instruction-only skill with no install spec and no code files, so nothing is written to disk by an installation step. That lowers install-time risk. The security surface is entirely the runtime instructions and network calls.
Credentials
Only a single credential (NEMO_TOKEN) is declared as required and is the primaryEnv, which is proportionate for a service that requires authenticated API calls. However, the skill instructs generating an anonymous token automatically if none is present and later storing session/token values (storage location unspecified), and the metadata references a config path (~/.config/nemovideo/). It's unclear whether tokens/session data are kept transiently in memory or persisted to the user's filesystem/config; that ambiguity increases risk.
Persistence & Privilege
The skill does not set always:true and does not request elevated platform-wide privileges. It does request that the agent 'store the returned session_id' and to detect install paths to populate an attribution header — these require some persistence or filesystem access but are limited in scope. The instructions to hide token and API responses reduce transparency about that persistence.
