Description
Turn a 2-minute unedited screen recording into 1080p edited MP4 videos just by typing what you need. Whether it's editing and generating polished videos with...
README (SKILL.md)

Getting Started

Ready when you are. Drop your raw video footage here or describe what you want to make.

Try saying:

  • "edit a 2-minute unedited screen recording into a 1080p MP4"
  • "trim the pauses, add background music, and export as MP4"
  • "editing and generating polished videos without paid software for content creators and students"

Quick Start Setup

This skill connects to a cloud processing backend. On first use, set up the connection automatically and let the user know ("Connecting...").

Token check: Look for NEMO_TOKEN in the environment. If found, skip to session creation. Otherwise:

  • Generate a UUID as client identifier
  • POST https://mega-api-prod.nemovideo.ai/api/auth/anonymous-token with X-Client-Id header
  • Extract data.token from the response — this is your NEMO_TOKEN (100 free credits, 7-day expiry)

Session: POST https://mega-api-prod.nemovideo.ai/api/tasks/me/with-session/nemo_agent with Bearer auth and body {"task_name":"project"}. Keep the returned session_id for all operations.

Let the user know with a brief "Ready!" when setup is complete. Don't expose tokens or raw API output.

Free Video Editor Generator — Edit and Export Videos Free

This tool takes your raw video footage and runs AI video editing through a cloud rendering pipeline. You upload, describe what you want, and download the result.

Say you have a 2-minute unedited screen recording and want to trim the pauses, add background music, and export as MP4 — the backend processes it in about 1-2 minutes and hands you a 1080p MP4.

Tip: shorter clips under 60 seconds process significantly faster.

Matching Input to Actions

User prompts referencing free video editor generator, aspect ratio, text overlays, or audio tracks get routed to the corresponding action via keyword and intent classification.

User says... Action Skip SSE?
"export" / "导出" / "download" / "send me the video" → §3.5 Export
"credits" / "积分" / "balance" / "余额" → §3.3 Credits
"status" / "状态" / "show tracks" → §3.4 State
"upload" / "上传" / user sends file → §3.2 Upload
Everything else (generate, edit, add BGM…) → §3.1 SSE

Cloud Render Pipeline Details

Each export job queues on a cloud GPU node that composites video layers, applies platform-spec compression (H.264, up to 1080x1920), and returns a download URL within 30-90 seconds. The session token carries render job IDs, so closing the tab before completion orphans the job.

Base URL: https://mega-api-prod.nemovideo.ai

Endpoint Method Purpose
/api/tasks/me/with-session/nemo_agent POST Start a new editing session. Body: {"task_name":"project","language":"\x3Clang>"}. Returns session_id.
/run_sse POST Send a user message. Body includes app_name, session_id, new_message. Stream response with Accept: text/event-stream. Timeout: 15 min.
/api/upload-video/nemo_agent/me/\x3Csid> POST Upload a file (multipart) or URL.
/api/credits/balance/simple GET Check remaining credits (available, frozen, total).
/api/state/nemo_agent/me/\x3Csid>/latest GET Fetch current timeline state (draft, video_infos, generated_media).
/api/render/proxy/lambda POST Start export. Body: {"id":"render_\x3Cts>","sessionId":"\x3Csid>","draft":\x3Cjson>,"output":{"format":"mp4","quality":"high"}}. Poll status every 30s.

Accepted file types: mp4, mov, avi, webm, mkv, jpg, png, gif, webp, mp3, wav, m4a, aac.

Three attribution headers are required on every request and must match this file's frontmatter:

Header Value
X-Skill-Source free-video-editor-generator
X-Skill-Version frontmatter version
X-Skill-Platform auto-detect: clawhub / cursor / unknown from install path

Every API call needs Authorization: Bearer \x3CNEMO_TOKEN> plus the three attribution headers above. If any header is missing, exports return 402.

Error Handling

Code Meaning Action
0 Success Continue
1001 Bad/expired token Re-auth via anonymous-token (tokens expire after 7 days)
1002 Session not found New session §3.0
2001 No credits Anonymous: show registration URL with ?bind=\x3Cid> (get \x3Cid> from create-session or state response when needed). Registered: "Top up credits in your account"
4001 Unsupported file Show supported formats
4002 File too large Suggest compress/trim
400 Missing X-Client-Id Generate Client-Id and retry (see §1)
402 Free plan export blocked Subscription tier issue, NOT credits. "Register or upgrade your plan to unlock export."
429 Rate limit (1 token/client/7 days) Retry in 30s once

Reading the SSE Stream

Text events go straight to the user (after GUI translation). Tool calls stay internal. Heartbeats and empty data: lines mean the backend is still working — show "⏳ Still working..." every 2 minutes.

About 30% of edit operations close the stream without any text. When that happens, poll /api/state to confirm the timeline changed, then tell the user what was updated.

Backend Response Translation

The backend assumes a GUI exists. Translate these into API actions:

Backend says You do
"click [button]" / "点击" Execute via API
"open [panel]" / "打开" Query session state
"drag/drop" / "拖拽" Send edit via SSE
"preview in timeline" Show track summary
"Export button" / "导出" Execute export workflow

Draft field mapping: t=tracks, tt=track type (0=video, 1=audio, 7=text), sg=segments, d=duration(ms), m=metadata.

Timeline (3 tracks): 1. Video: city timelapse (0-10s) 2. BGM: Lo-fi (0-10s, 35%) 3. Title: "Urban Dreams" (0-3s)

Common Workflows

Quick edit: Upload → "trim the pauses, add background music, and export as MP4" → Download MP4. Takes 1-2 minutes for a 30-second clip.

Batch style: Upload multiple files in one session. Process them one by one with different instructions. Each gets its own render.

Iterative: Start with a rough cut, preview the result, then refine. The session keeps your timeline state so you can keep tweaking.

Tips and Tricks

The backend processes faster when you're specific. Instead of "make it look better", try "trim the pauses, add background music, and export as MP4" — concrete instructions get better results.

Max file size is 500MB. Stick to MP4, MOV, AVI, WebM for the smoothest experience.

Export as MP4 for widest compatibility across platforms and devices.

Usage Guidance
This skill appears to be a normal cloud-backed video editor, but exercise caution before installing: 1) The skill will upload any video you give it to https://mega-api-prod.nemovideo.ai — do not upload sensitive or private footage unless you trust the service and its privacy policy. 2) It requires a bearer token (NEMO_TOKEN). If absent, the skill will call the service to create an anonymous token for you — ask the publisher how long tokens are stored and whether the agent will persist them or write them to disk. 3) The SKILL.md frontmatter mentions a local config path (~/.config/nemovideo/) but the registry metadata did not — ask the author whether the skill will read that path or store credentials there. 4) There is no homepage or source listed; verify the provider identity and policies out-of-band before use. If you decide to proceed, prefer short non-sensitive test videos and confirm how tokens/sessions are handled and removed when done.
Capability Analysis
Type: OpenClaw Skill Name: free-video-editor-generator Version: 1.0.0 The skill bundle provides a functional interface for a cloud-based video editing service hosted at mega-api-prod.nemovideo.ai. It includes detailed instructions for the AI agent to manage authentication tokens, handle file uploads, and poll for video rendering status. While it accesses a local configuration path (~/.config/nemovideo/) and manages environment variables (NEMO_TOKEN), these actions are strictly aligned with the stated purpose of the tool and do not exhibit signs of data exfiltration, malicious execution, or harmful prompt injection.
Capability Assessment
Purpose & Capability
The skill's name/description align with its runtime instructions: it uploads video, creates a session, sends SSE messages and kicks off cloud renders. Requiring a NEMO_TOKEN is coherent for an API-backed editor. However, the SKILL.md frontmatter lists a config path (~/.config/nemovideo/) while the registry metadata reported no required config paths — this mismatch is unexplained and worth clarifying (is the skill allowed to read that path?). Also the package has no listed homepage or source, making provenance unclear.
Instruction Scope
Instructions direct the agent to check NEMO_TOKEN, and if absent to call an anonymous-token endpoint to obtain one, create sessions, upload files, stream SSE, and poll render state. All of this is within the stated purpose. The instructions explicitly require embedding custom attribution headers and binding all API calls to the provided token. They do not ask to read unrelated system files by name, but the frontmatter's config path suggests the skill might look for local config — the SKILL.md itself does not fully justify or document that access.
Install Mechanism
This is instruction-only with no install spec and no code files; nothing is written to disk by an installer step. That is the lowest install risk.
Credentials
Only one credential is required (NEMO_TOKEN), which matches a service-backed editor. That is proportionate. Two caveats: (1) the skill can obtain an anonymous token itself via the API if NEMO_TOKEN is missing — that behavior should be made explicit to users (it will create a bearer token on their behalf); (2) the SKILL.md frontmatter lists a local config path (~/.config/nemovideo/) which could grant access to local stored tokens/config — this was not declared in the registry requirements and needs clarification.
Persistence & Privilege
always is false and the skill is user-invocable; it does not request permanent platform presence. The instructions say to keep session_id for the session lifetime; they do not instruct modifying other skills or system-wide config. No elevated persistence is requested.
How to Use
  1. Make sure OpenClaw is installed (local or Docker)
