Description
edit raw video clips into Instagram-ready clips with this skill. Works with MP4, MOV, AVI, WebM files up to 500MB. Instagram creators use it for editing and...
README (SKILL.md)

Getting Started

Share your raw video clips and I'll get started on AI Instagram editing. Or just tell me what you're thinking.

Try saying:

  • "edit my raw video clips"
  • "export 1080p MP4"
  • "crop to 9:16, add trending captions,"

Getting Connected

Before handling any user request, establish a connection to the backend API. Show a brief status like "Connecting...".

If NEMO_TOKEN is in the environment, use it directly and create a session. Otherwise, acquire a free starter token:

  • Generate a UUID as client identifier
  • POST to https://mega-api-prod.nemovideo.ai/api/auth/anonymous-token with the X-Client-Id header
  • The response includes a token with 100 free credits valid for 7 days — use it as NEMO_TOKEN

Then create a session by POSTing to https://mega-api-prod.nemovideo.ai/api/tasks/me/with-session/nemo_agent with Bearer authorization and body {"task_name":"project","language":"en"}. The session_id in the response is needed for all following requests.

Tell the user you're ready. Keep the technical details out of the chat.

AI Video Editor Instagram — Edit Videos for Instagram Reels

Send me your raw video clips and describe the result you want. The AI Instagram editing runs on remote GPU nodes — nothing to install on your machine.

A quick example: upload a 60-second phone-recorded clip in portrait mode, type "crop to 9:16, add trending captions, and trim dead air for an Instagram Reel", and you'll get a 1080p MP4 back in roughly 30-60 seconds. All rendering happens server-side.

Worth noting: vertical 9:16 footage uploads process faster and skip the auto-crop step entirely.

Matching Input to Actions

User prompts referencing ai video editor instagram, aspect ratio, text overlays, or audio tracks get routed to the corresponding action via keyword and intent classification.

User says... Action Skip SSE?
"export" / "导出" / "download" / "send me the video" → §3.5 Export
"credits" / "积分" / "balance" / "余额" → §3.3 Credits
"status" / "状态" / "show tracks" → §3.4 State
"upload" / "上传" / user sends file → §3.2 Upload
Everything else (generate, edit, add BGM…) → §3.1 SSE

Cloud Render Pipeline Details

Each export job queues on a cloud GPU node that composites video layers, applies platform-spec compression (H.264, up to 1080x1920), and returns a download URL within 30-90 seconds. The session token carries render job IDs, so closing the tab before completion orphans the job.

All requests must include: Authorization: Bearer \x3CNEMO_TOKEN>, X-Skill-Source, X-Skill-Version, X-Skill-Platform. Missing attribution headers will cause export to fail with 402.

Three attribution headers are required on every request and must match this file's frontmatter:

Header Value
X-Skill-Source ai-video-editor-instagram
X-Skill-Version frontmatter version
X-Skill-Platform auto-detect: clawhub / cursor / unknown from install path

API base: https://mega-api-prod.nemovideo.ai

Create session: POST /api/tasks/me/with-session/nemo_agent — body {"task_name":"project","language":"\x3Clang>"} — returns task_id, session_id.

Send message (SSE): POST /run_sse — body {"app_name":"nemo_agent","user_id":"me","session_id":"\x3Csid>","new_message":{"parts":[{"text":"\x3Cmsg>"}]}} with Accept: text/event-stream. Max timeout: 15 minutes.

Upload: POST /api/upload-video/nemo_agent/me/\x3Csid> — file: multipart -F "files=@/path", or URL: {"urls":["\x3Curl>"],"source_type":"url"}

Credits: GET /api/credits/balance/simple — returns available, frozen, total

Session state: GET /api/state/nemo_agent/me/\x3Csid>/latest — key fields: data.state.draft, data.state.video_infos, data.state.generated_media

Export (free, no credits): POST /api/render/proxy/lambda — body {"id":"render_\x3Cts>","sessionId":"\x3Csid>","draft":\x3Cjson>,"output":{"format":"mp4","quality":"high"}}. Poll GET /api/render/proxy/lambda/\x3Cid> every 30s until status = completed. Download URL at output.url.

Supported formats: mp4, mov, avi, webm, mkv, jpg, png, gif, webp, mp3, wav, m4a, aac.

Error Handling

Code Meaning Action
0 Success Continue
1001 Bad/expired token Re-auth via anonymous-token (tokens expire after 7 days)
1002 Session not found New session §3.0
2001 No credits Anonymous: show registration URL with ?bind=\x3Cid> (get \x3Cid> from create-session or state response when needed). Registered: "Top up credits in your account"
4001 Unsupported file Show supported formats
4002 File too large Suggest compress/trim
400 Missing X-Client-Id Generate Client-Id and retry (see §1)
402 Free plan export blocked Subscription tier issue, NOT credits. "Register or upgrade your plan to unlock export."
429 Rate limit (1 token/client/7 days) Retry in 30s once

Backend Response Translation

The backend assumes a GUI exists. Translate these into API actions:

Backend says You do
"click [button]" / "点击" Execute via API
"open [panel]" / "打开" Query session state
"drag/drop" / "拖拽" Send edit via SSE
"preview in timeline" Show track summary
"Export button" / "导出" Execute export workflow

Reading the SSE Stream

Text events go straight to the user (after GUI translation). Tool calls stay internal. Heartbeats and empty data: lines mean the backend is still working — show "⏳ Still working..." every 2 minutes.

About 30% of edit operations close the stream without any text. When that happens, poll /api/state to confirm the timeline changed, then tell the user what was updated.

Draft JSON uses short keys: t for tracks, tt for track type (0=video, 1=audio, 7=text), sg for segments, d for duration in ms, m for metadata.

Example timeline summary:

Timeline (3 tracks): 1. Video: city timelapse (0-10s) 2. BGM: Lo-fi (0-10s, 35%) 3. Title: "Urban Dreams" (0-3s)

Tips and Tricks

The backend processes faster when you're specific. Instead of "make it look better", try "crop to 9:16, add trending captions, and trim dead air for an Instagram Reel" — concrete instructions get better results.

Max file size is 500MB. Stick to MP4, MOV, AVI, WebM for the smoothest experience.

Export as MP4 with H.264 codec for the best quality-to-size ratio on Instagram.

Common Workflows

Quick edit: Upload → "crop to 9:16, add trending captions, and trim dead air for an Instagram Reel" → Download MP4. Takes 30-60 seconds for a 30-second clip.

Batch style: Upload multiple files in one session. Process them one by one with different instructions. Each gets its own render.

Iterative: Start with a rough cut, preview the result, then refine. The session keeps your timeline state so you can keep tweaking.

Usage Guidance
This skill appears to be a straightforward cloud video-editing integration: it will send any uploaded videos and edit commands to the nemovideo API and requires a single token (NEMO_TOKEN) to authorize requests. Before installing, verify the API/domain and owner (there's no homepage or source listed), and consider privacy: uploaded videos are processed on a remote GPU service — confirm how long they are stored and who can access them. Ask the publisher for source code, a privacy/data-retention policy, and clarification about the SKILL.md frontmatter vs. registry metadata mismatch (config path declared in SKILL.md). If you do not trust the nemovideo host or cannot obtain provenance, avoid supplying sensitive media or credentials.
Capability Analysis
Type: OpenClaw Skill Name: ai-video-editor-instagram Version: 1.0.0 The skill is a functional integration for an AI video editing service (nemovideo.ai). It provides detailed instructions for an agent to manage sessions, upload videos, and trigger cloud-based rendering via a specific API. No evidence of data exfiltration, malicious execution, or harmful prompt injection was found; the requested permissions (NEMO_TOKEN and config path) and the use of attribution headers are consistent with the stated purpose of a cloud-based editing tool.
Capability Assessment
Purpose & Capability
The skill name/description (Instagram video editing) matches the actions in SKILL.md: session creation, upload, render/export endpoints and credit checks. Requesting a single NEMO_TOKEN credential is proportionate for a hosted API. Minor inconsistency: the SKILL.md frontmatter lists a config path (~/.config/nemovideo/) while the registry metadata earlier claimed no required config paths.
Instruction Scope
Instructions remain focused on creating a session, uploading user media, running SSE-based edits, polling renders, and returning a download URL. This is appropriate for a cloud editor. Two points to watch: (1) the skill will POST to an external API to generate anonymous tokens if no NEMO_TOKEN is present (this is expected but means the agent will contact a third-party endpoint), and (2) the SKILL.md asks the runtime to 'auto-detect' install path for X-Skill-Platform — that could require reading runtime/agent environment details (not necessarily malicious, but underspecified).
Install Mechanism
No install spec and no code files (instruction-only) — lowest install risk. The skill relies entirely on runtime HTTP interactions with the nemovideo API; nothing is downloaded or written by an installer.
Credentials
The only required environment credential is NEMO_TOKEN (declared primary credential), which is reasonable. The SKILL.md describes generating and using an anonymous token if none exists. The earlier registry metadata said 'required config paths: none' but the SKILL.md frontmatter includes a config path (~/.config/nemovideo/) — this mismatch should be clarified. No unrelated secrets (AWS, OAuth tokens, etc.) are requested.
Persistence & Privilege
always is false and the skill does not request elevated or persistent system-wide privileges. It does not instruct modifying other skills or global agent settings. Autonomous invocation (disable-model-invocation=false) is normal platform behavior and not flagged alone.
How to Use
  1. Make sure OpenClaw is installed (local or Docker)
  2. Run the install command in chat: /install ai-video-editor-instagram
  3. After installation, invoke the skill by name or use /ai-video-editor-instagram
  4. Provide required inputs per the skill's parameter spec and get structured output
