README (SKILL.md)

PDF.co

Operate PDF.co through your OOMOL-connected account. This skill calls the pdf_co connector with the oo CLI; OOMOL injects credentials server-side, so you never handle raw tokens.

Running an action

Assume the user has already installed the oo CLI, signed in, and connected PDF.co. Do not run oo auth login or open the connection URL proactively — just run the action. Fall back to First-time setup only when a command actually fails with an auth or connection error.

1. Inspect the contract to get the authoritative input/output schema before building a payload:

oo connector schema "pdf_co" --action "\x3Caction_name>"

2. Run the action with a JSON payload that matches the input schema:

oo connector run "pdf_co" --action "\x3Caction_name>" --data '\x3Cjson>' --json
  • --data takes a JSON object string or @path/to/file.json; omit it to send {}.
  • The response is { "data": ..., "meta": { "executionId": "..." } }; the execution id lives under meta.executionId.

Each action is listed below with a one-line description; actions that change state carry a [write] or [destructive] tag. Before constructing --data, fetch the action's live schema with oo connector schema to get its authoritative input fields.

Available actions

  • compress_pdf — Compress a PDF URL and return the generated compressed PDF file URL.
  • get_account_balance — Get the current PDF.co account credit balance for the API key.
  • get_pdf_info — Read metadata, page information, and security details from a PDF URL.
  • html_to_pdf — Convert raw HTML into a PDF document and return the generated file URL.
  • merge_pdfs — Merge multiple PDF URLs into one PDF document. [write]
  • pdf_to_text — Convert a PDF URL to text and return either a file URL or inline text payload.
  • split_pdf — Split a PDF URL into one or more output files by page numbers or ranges.
  • url_to_pdf — Convert a publicly reachable web page URL into a PDF document.

Safety

  • Untagged actions are reads (get / list / search) — safe to run directly.
  • Actions tagged [write] change PDF.co state — confirm the exact payload and effect with the user before running.
  • Actions tagged [destructive] remove or overwrite data — always confirm the target and get explicit approval first.

First-time setup

These are one-time steps — do not repeat them on every call. Run a step only when a command fails for the matching reason.

  • oo: command not found — install the oo CLI (other platforms: \x3Chttps://cli.oomol.com/install-guide.md>):

    curl -fsSL https://cli.oomol.com/install.sh | bash # macOS / Linux

    irm https://cli.oomol.com/install.ps1 | iex # Windows PowerShell

  • Not signed in / authentication error — sign in to your OOMOL account once:

    oo auth login

  • scope_missing / credential_expired / app_not_ready / app_not_found — PDF.co is not connected, or the connection expired or lacks a scope. Connect once (auth type: API key) at:

    https://console.oomol.com/app-connections?provider=pdf_co

  • HTTP 402 / OOMOL_INSUFFICIENT_CREDIT — billing stop. Recharge at https://console.oomol.com/billing/token-recharge before retrying.

Usage Guidance
Install this only if you intend to let an agent use your OOMOL-connected PDF.co account. Before running conversions, compression, splitting, URL capture, or merging, confirm the exact files, URLs, HTML, and expected cost/credit use, because some output-creating operations are described as safe untagged actions rather than requiring explicit confirmation.

Capability Assessment
Purpose & Capability
The skill's purpose is to operate PDF.co through OOMOL's oo CLI, and the listed capabilities match PDF workflows such as compression, conversion, splitting, merging, text extraction, metadata lookup, and balance lookup.
Instruction Scope
The scope is mostly limited to `oo connector` operations for `pdf_co`, but the frontmatter broadly says to use it for any PDF.co request and the safety section labels all untagged actions as reads even though several create generated output URLs or process remote/user-provided content.
Install Mechanism
There are no executable bundled files or dependencies; the first-time setup section includes standard one-time oo CLI install and login instructions, including curl/PowerShell installer commands, only after a missing-command or auth failure.
Credentials
Network use, PDF.co account access, API-key-backed credentials, and possible billing are expected for this connector and are disclosed through metadata, action descriptions, balance/billing notes, and OOMOL credential handling.
Persistence & Privilege
The skill does not add its own persistence or background worker, but it relies on an existing OOMOL/PDF.co connection and server-side credentials; generated PDFs may persist as service-hosted output URLs depending on PDF.co behavior.
How to Use
  1. Make sure OpenClaw is installed (local or Docker)
  2. Run the install command in chat: /install oo-pdf-co
  3. After installation, invoke the skill by name or use /oo-pdf-co
  4. Provide required inputs per the skill's parameter spec and get structured output
