README (SKILL.md)

Scrapingdog

Operate Scrapingdog through your OOMOL-connected account. This skill calls the scrapingdog connector with the oo CLI; OOMOL injects credentials server-side, so you never handle raw tokens.

Running an action

Assume the user has already installed the oo CLI, signed in, and connected Scrapingdog. Do not run oo auth login or open the connection URL proactively — just run the action. Fall back to First-time setup only when a command actually fails with an auth or connection error.

1. Inspect the contract to get the authoritative input/output schema before building a payload:

oo connector schema "scrapingdog" --action "\x3Caction_name>"

2. Run the action with a JSON payload that matches the input schema:

oo connector run "scrapingdog" --action "\x3Caction_name>" --data '\x3Cjson>' --json
  • --data takes a JSON object string or @path/to/file.json; omit it to send {}.
  • The response is { "data": ..., "meta": { "executionId": "..." } }; the execution id lives under meta.executionId.

Each action is listed below with a one-line description; actions that change state carry a [write] or [destructive] tag. Before constructing --data, fetch the action's live schema with oo connector schema to get its authoritative input fields.

Available actions

  • fetch_html — Fetch the HTML response for one target URL through the Scrapingdog Web Scraping API.
  • get_account_usage — Retrieve Scrapingdog account usage and credit information for the API key.
  • google_maps_place — Retrieve details for one Google Maps place through Scrapingdog.
  • google_maps_search — Run a Google Maps Search request through Scrapingdog.
  • google_scholar_search — Run a Google Scholar search request through Scrapingdog.
  • google_search — Run a Google Search request through Scrapingdog and return parsed results.

Safety

  • Untagged actions are reads (get / list / search) — safe to run directly.
  • Actions tagged [write] change Scrapingdog state — confirm the exact payload and effect with the user before running.
  • Actions tagged [destructive] remove or overwrite data — always confirm the target and get explicit approval first.

First-time setup

These are one-time steps — do not repeat them on every call. Run a step only when a command fails for the matching reason.

  • oo: command not found — install the oo CLI (other platforms: \x3Chttps://cli.oomol.com/install-guide.md>):

    curl -fsSL https://cli.oomol.com/install.sh | bash # macOS / Linux

    irm https://cli.oomol.com/install.ps1 | iex # Windows PowerShell

  • Not signed in / authentication error — sign in to your OOMOL account once:

    oo auth login

  • scope_missing / credential_expired / app_not_ready / app_not_found — Scrapingdog is not connected, or the connection expired or lacks a scope. Connect once (auth type: API key) at:

    https://console.oomol.com/app-connections?provider=scrapingdog

  • HTTP 402 / OOMOL_INSUFFICIENT_CREDIT — billing stop. Recharge at https://console.oomol.com/billing/token-recharge before retrying.

Usage Guidance
Install only if you intend to use Scrapingdog through OOMOL and are comfortable connecting a Scrapingdog API key to that account. Review the first-time setup commands before running them, especially the remote CLI installer, and expect page URLs or search queries you request to be sent through Scrapingdog/OOMOL as part of the service.

Capability Assessment
Purpose & Capability
The stated purpose and capability match: it documents Scrapingdog read/search/account-usage actions through the `scrapingdog` connector using `oo connector schema` and `oo connector run`.
Instruction Scope
Instructions are scoped to Scrapingdog tasks and tell the agent to inspect live schemas before building payloads; no prompt override, deception, or unrelated authority was found.
Install Mechanism
First-time setup includes remote CLI install commands and `oo auth login`, but they are disclosed fallback steps only after command/auth failures and the declared runtime tool scope is `Bash(oo *)`.
Credentials
Network use, target URL fetching, search queries, and Scrapingdog account usage lookup are expected for this integration; the skill discloses that OOMOL injects credentials server-side rather than exposing raw tokens.
Persistence & Privilege
No background workers, persistence hooks, local indexing, credential harvesting, or destructive actions are present in the artifact; optional CLI/auth setup is user-visible.
How to Use
  1. Make sure OpenClaw is installed (local or Docker)
  2. Run the install command in chat: /install oo-scrapingdog
  3. After installation, invoke the skill by name or use /oo-scrapingdog
  4. Provide required inputs per the skill's parameter spec and get structured output
