Grist

Operate Grist through your OOMOL-connected account. This skill calls the grist connector with the oo CLI; OOMOL injects credentials server-side, so you never handle raw tokens.

Category: Productivity, Data & Analytics. Exposes 8 action(s).

Running an action

Assume the user has already installed the oo CLI, signed in, and connected Grist. Do not run oo auth login or open the connection URL proactively — just run the action. Fall back to First-time setup only when a command actually fails with an auth or connection error.

1. Inspect the contract to get the authoritative input/output schema before building a payload:

oo connector schema "grist" --action "\x3Caction_name>"

2. Run the action with a JSON payload that matches the input schema:

oo connector run "grist" --action "\x3Caction_name>" --data '\x3Cjson>' --json
  • --data takes a JSON object string or @path/to/file.json; omit it to send {}.
  • The response is { "data": ..., "meta": { "executionId": "..." } }; the execution id lives under meta.executionId.

Each action below links to a reference file with its purpose and exact commands. Read the linked file, then fetch the live schema with oo connector schema before constructing --data.

Available actions

  • add_records — Add one or more records to a Grist table.
  • delete_records — Delete one or more records from a Grist table by row ID.
  • get_document — Fetch metadata for a Grist document by document ID or short URL alias.
  • list_columns — List the columns defined in a Grist table.
  • list_records — List records from a Grist table with optional filtering, sorting, limits, and hidden-column inclusion.
  • list_tables — List the tables defined in a Grist document.
  • list_workspaces — List the Grist workspaces and documents that the authenticated API key can access on the current Grist site.
  • update_records — Update one or more existing Grist records by row ID.

Safety

  • Read actions (get / list / search) are safe to run directly.
  • Create, update, send, or post actions change Grist state — confirm the exact payload and effect with the user before running.
  • Delete or remove actions are destructive — always confirm the target and get explicit approval first.

First-time setup

These are one-time steps — do not repeat them on every call. Run a step only when a command fails for the matching reason.

  • oo: command not found — install the oo CLI (other platforms: \x3Chttps://cli.oomol.com/install-guide.md>):

    curl -fsSL https://cli.oomol.com/install.sh | bash # macOS / Linux

    irm https://cli.oomol.com/install.ps1 | iex # Windows PowerShell

  • Not signed in / authentication error — sign in to your OOMOL account once:

    oo auth login

  • scope_missing / credential_expired / app_not_ready / app_not_found — Grist is not connected, or the connection expired or lacks a scope. Connect once (auth type: API key) at:

    https://console.oomol.com/app-connections?provider=grist

  • HTTP 402 / OOMOL_INSUFFICIENT_CREDIT — billing stop. Recharge at https://console.oomol.com/billing/token-recharge before retrying.

Usage Guidance
Install only if you trust OOMOL and are comfortable letting the skill operate on the Grist data available to your connected API key. Confirm every add, update, or delete payload before execution, and consider installing the `oo` CLI through official, verifiable instructions instead of directly piping a downloaded script into a shell.

Capability Assessment
Purpose & Capability
The skill's ability to list, read, add, update, and delete Grist records matches its stated Grist automation purpose, but it can affect business data in the connected account.
Instruction Scope
Runtime instructions consistently route actions through the OOMOL `grist` connector, require live schema inspection, and require user confirmation for writes and deletes; the `Bash(oo *)` allowance is broader than the individual Grist commands but is constrained by the written workflow.
Install Mechanism
First-time setup includes remote installer commands for the `oo` CLI, including pipe-to-shell patterns; this is disclosed and conditional, but users should prefer official install guidance and verification where available.
Credentials
The requested environment access is limited to the `oo` CLI and is proportionate for an OOMOL-backed Grist connector skill.
Persistence & Privilege
No hidden persistence, background worker, local indexing, credential scraping, or privilege escalation is present in the artifacts; credentials are described as handled server-side by OOMOL.
How to Use
  1. Make sure OpenClaw is installed (local or Docker)
  2. Run the install command in chat: /install oo-grist
  3. After installation, invoke the skill by name or use /oo-grist
  4. Provide required inputs per the skill's parameter spec and get structured output
Version History
v1.0.0
- Adds an OOMOL-backed Grist skill for operating connected Grist accounts through the `oo` CLI without handling raw API tokens. - Supports discovery of accessible Grist workspaces, documents, tables, and table columns. - Provides read access to document metadata and table records, including optional filtering, sorting, limits, and hidden-column inclusion. - Enables record mutation workflows for adding, updating, and deleting rows in Grist tables. - Documents a schema-first execution flow so agents inspect live connector contracts before constructing action payloads. - Includes safety guidance for write and destructive actions, requiring confirmation before changing or deleting Grist data.
