README (SKILL.md)

SEO Off-Page: Link Building

Guides link building strategy: acquiring quality backlinks to improve domain authority and rankings.

When invoking: On first use, if helpful, open with 1-2 sentences on what this skill covers and why it matters, then provide the main output. On subsequent use or when the user asks to skip, go directly to the main output.

Scope (Off-Page SEO)

  • Link building: Acquire backlinks from relevant, authoritative sites
  • Broken link building: Find broken links on others' sites; suggest your content as replacement
  • Unlinked brand mentions: Turn mentions into links via outreach
  • Guest posting: Contribute to relevant publications; earn links
  • Journalist requests: Respond to #JournoRequest; provide quotes/assets
  • Digital PR: PR campaigns for backlinks and E-E-A-T — see eeat-signals

Initial Assessment

Check for project context first: If .claude/project-context.md or .cursor/project-context.md exists, read it for product, audience, and proof points.

Identify:

  1. Current backlink profile: Domain authority, referring domains
  2. Target keywords: What to rank for
  3. Linkable assets: Research, tools, guides, data, testimonials

Usage Guidance
This skill appears to only provide link-building advice, templates, and strategies — it won't install software or ask for keys. Before installing or running it, check whether your project-context files (.claude/project-context.md or .cursor/project-context.md) include secrets or private data, since the skill instructs the agent to read them for context. Also be aware the skill may recommend tactics (guest posting, directory submissions, parasite SEO) that can range from standard to borderline black-hat; review any outreach copy or tactical suggestions before sending or executing them, and ensure compliance with site terms and applicable laws. If you want the agent to actually perform outreach or web crawling, confirm whether other skills or integrations will be invoked and whether they'll require credentials or network access.
Capability Analysis
Type: OpenClaw Skill Name: link-building Version: 1.0.1 The skill bundle is a purely informational guide for SEO link-building strategies. It contains no executable code, shell commands, or network requests, and its instructions in SKILL.md are strictly aligned with its stated purpose of assisting with backlink acquisition and outreach.
Capability Assessment
Purpose & Capability
Name/description match the instructions: the SKILL.md gives strategies, outreach templates, asset ideas, and metrics for link building. It does not request unrelated binaries, credentials, or system access.
Instruction Scope
Instructions are primarily guidance and templates. It does instruct the agent to read project context files if present (.claude/project-context.md or .cursor/project-context.md) to tailor recommendations — reasonable for contextual advice, but those files can contain sensitive project information and the skill did not declare them as required inputs.
Install Mechanism
No install spec and no code files — lowest-risk, instruction-only skill that does not write to disk or fetch external packages.
Credentials
Requires no environment variables, credentials, or config paths. The requested scope is proportional to an advisory/off‑page SEO skill.
Persistence & Privilege
always is false and the skill does not request elevated or persistent privileges. Normal autonomous invocation is allowed by default but not unusual here.
How to Use
  1. Make sure OpenClaw is installed (local or Docker)
  2. Run the install command in chat: /install link-building
  3. After installation, invoke the skill by name or use /link-building
  4. Provide required inputs per the skill's parameter spec and get structured output
