README (SKILL.md)

ipdata.co

Operate ipdata.co through your OOMOL-connected account. This skill calls the ipdata_co connector with the oo CLI; OOMOL injects credentials server-side, so you never handle raw tokens.

Category: Maps & Location, Security & Identity, Data & Analytics. Exposes 30 action(s).

Running an action

Assume the user has already installed the oo CLI, signed in, and connected ipdata.co. Do not run oo auth login or open the connection URL proactively — just run the action. Fall back to First-time setup only when a command actually fails with an auth or connection error.

1. Inspect the contract to get the authoritative input/output schema before building a payload:

oo connector schema "ipdata_co" --action "\x3Caction_name>"

2. Run the action with a JSON payload that matches the input schema:

oo connector run "ipdata_co" --action "\x3Caction_name>" --data '\x3Cjson>' --json
  • --data takes a JSON object string or @path/to/file.json; omit it to send {}.
  • The response is { "data": ..., "meta": { "executionId": "..." } }; the execution id lives under meta.executionId.

Each action below links to a reference file with its purpose and exact commands. Read the linked file, then fetch the live schema with oo connector schema before constructing --data.

Safety

  • Read actions (get / list / search) are safe to run directly.
  • Create, update, send, or post actions change ipdata.co state — confirm the exact payload and effect with the user before running.
  • Delete or remove actions are destructive — always confirm the target and get explicit approval first.

First-time setup

These are one-time steps — do not repeat them on every call. Run a step only when a command fails for the matching reason.

  • oo: command not found — install the oo CLI (other platforms: \x3Chttps://cli.oomol.com/install-guide.md>):

    curl -fsSL https://cli.oomol.com/install.sh | bash # macOS / Linux

    irm https://cli.oomol.com/install.ps1 | iex # Windows PowerShell

  • Not signed in / authentication error — sign in to your OOMOL account once:

    oo auth login

  • scope_missing / credential_expired / app_not_ready / app_not_found — ipdata.co is not connected, or the connection expired or lacks a scope. Connect once (auth type: API key) at:

    https://console.oomol.com/app-connections?provider=ipdata_co

  • HTTP 402 / OOMOL_INSUFFICIENT_CREDIT — billing stop. Recharge at https://console.oomol.com/billing/token-recharge before retrying.

Usage Guidance
Review the install instructions before running them. Prefer installing the required CLI through a package manager or a pinned, verified release instead of piping a remote script into bash. Also confirm whether the action will use your current public IP address and send it to ipdata.co when you do not provide an IP explicitly.

Capability Assessment
Purpose & Capability
The described capability, deriving a local currency from an IP address, is coherent with using an IP geolocation service; no artifact-backed evidence shows unrelated data access or destructive behavior.
Instruction Scope
The action may use the caller's current IP when no IP is provided, which is relevant to the feature but should be made explicit because IP address use can reveal approximate location.
Install Mechanism
SKILL.md reportedly includes a troubleshooting install command that pipes a remote script from cli.oomol.com directly into bash, giving that endpoint broad local execution authority without checksum or signature verification.
Credentials
Network access to an IP data provider is proportionate for currency-by-IP lookup, but users should know when their public IP or a supplied IP is sent to a third party.
Persistence & Privilege
No direct persistence, privilege escalation, credential theft, or background execution is shown in the supplied evidence, though installing a CLI through a shell script can change the local environment.
How to Use
  1. Make sure OpenClaw is installed (local or Docker)
  2. Run the install command in chat: /install oo-ipdata-co
  3. After installation, invoke the skill by name or use /oo-ipdata-co
  4. Provide required inputs per the skill's parameter spec and get structured output
Version History
v1.0.0
- Initial release of the `oo-ipdata-co` skill for querying ipdata.co through the OOMOL `ipdata_co` connector, with credentials handled server-side. - Supports full IP lookups for specific IP addresses or the caller's current IP, including both the main and EU ipdata endpoints. - Provides focused field-level actions for geolocation and regional data such as city, region, country, continent, postal code, coordinates, EU status, calling code, flags, currency, languages, and time zone. - Adds security and network intelligence lookups, including threat data, carrier data, company data, basic ASN data by IP, and advanced ASN details by ASN number. - Includes bulk lookup support for querying up to 100 IP addresses in a single request. - Documents the standard `oo connector schema` and `oo connector run` workflow for inspecting live action schemas before execution.
