FieldFix Skill

Query and manage your heavy equipment fleet through FieldFix's Agent API.

Setup

  1. Get your API key from FieldFix Settings
  2. Set environment variable:
    export FIELDFIX_API_KEY=ff_sk_live_your_key_here

Pricing

API access is included with all paid plans:

  • $10/machine/month (1-25 machines)
  • $7/machine/month (26-100 machines)
  • $5/machine/month (100+ machines)
  • 2 months free trial — no credit card required

Capabilities

Read Operations

List all machines:

node scripts/fieldfix.js machines

Get machine details:

node scripts/fieldfix.js machine \x3Cid>

Get machine expenses:

node scripts/fieldfix.js expenses \x3Cid>

Get service history:

node scripts/fieldfix.js service \x3Cid>

Get fleet alerts:

node scripts/fieldfix.js alerts

Write Operations

Log a service entry:

node scripts/fieldfix.js log-service \x3Cid> "Oil Change" 120 "Changed oil and filter"

Log an expense:

node scripts/fieldfix.js log-expense \x3Cid> fuel 250 "Filled tank"

Update hour meter:

node scripts/fieldfix.js update-hours \x3Cid> 1250

Example Prompts

Once configured, try asking your agent:

  • "What machines do I have in FieldFix?"
  • "When is my CAT 299 due for service?"
  • "How much have I spent on fuel this month?"
  • "Log an oil change on the excavator for $120"
  • "What's the total cost per hour for my skid steer?"

Usage Guidance
This skill's code and instructions look like a legitimate CLI wrapper for the FieldFix API, but the registry metadata is inconsistent: it fails to declare the required FIELDFIX_API_KEY env var and the Node runtime requirement. Before installing, verify the publisher (check the GitHub repo and homepage linked in package.json), ensure you trust the FieldFix service, and only provide an API key created in your FieldFix account. Install and run the script in an isolated environment (or container) if you want to limit blast radius. Ask the skill author or registry maintainer to correct the metadata (declare FIELDFIX_API_KEY and node >=18) so automation and security reviewers can reason about it more easily.
Capability Analysis
Type: OpenClaw Skill Name: fieldfix Version: 1.0.0 The OpenClaw skill bundle for FieldFix is benign. The `scripts/fieldfix.js` script interacts solely with the `https://app.fieldfix.ai/api/v1` endpoint, consistent with its stated purpose of managing heavy equipment fleets. It securely retrieves the API key from the `FIELDFIX_API_KEY` environment variable and performs only the read/write operations described in `SKILL.md`. There is no evidence of data exfiltration, malicious execution, persistence, prompt injection attempts against the agent, or obfuscation.
Capability Assessment
Purpose & Capability
Name, description, SKILL.md, package.json homepage, and the script all consistently target FieldFix's API (app.fieldfix.ai). The operations (list machines, log service/expense, update hours) align with the stated purpose.
Instruction Scope
SKILL.md and scripts only instruct running the bundled Node CLI which calls the FieldFix API endpoints. The instructions do not ask the agent to read unrelated files, access unrelated services, or transmit data to unknown endpoints.
Install Mechanism
There is no install spec (instruction-only), which is low risk, but the package includes package.json and a Node script. The registry metadata does not declare Node as a required binary even though package.json lists engines.node >=18 and SKILL.md assumes 'node' is available. That metadata omission is an incoherence that could mislead users or automation about runtime requirements.
Credentials
The script requires an API key via process.env.FIELDFIX_API_KEY and SKILL.md instructs users to export FIELDFIX_API_KEY, which is appropriate for the API. However, the registry metadata claims 'Required env vars: none' and 'Primary credential: none' — this mismatch is a notable inconsistency that should be corrected. The key requested is proportional to purpose, but the metadata omission reduces trust.
Persistence & Privilege
The skill does not request persistent or elevated privileges; always is false and there are no config paths or system-wide changes. Autonomous invocation is allowed (default) but is not combined with other high-risk factors here.
How to Use
  1. Make sure OpenClaw is installed (local or Docker)
  2. Run the install command in chat: /install fieldfix
  3. After installation, invoke the skill by name or use /fieldfix
  4. Provide required inputs per the skill's parameter spec and get structured output
