Description
Constant Contact API integration with managed OAuth. This is a write-capable integration — it can read, create, update, delete, and bulk-modify contacts, email campaigns, contact lists, tags, custom fields, segments, and marketing analytics. Use this skill when users want to interact with Constant Contact marketing data. All write operations (POST, PUT, DELETE, bulk actions, campaign sending/scheduling) require explicit user approval with specific resource identifiers before execution. For other third party apps, use the api-gateway skill (https://clawhub.ai/byungkyu/api-gateway). Requires network access and valid Maton API key. Calls run through the `maton` CLI with OAuth login, or over raw HTTP with a Maton API key where the CLI cannot be installed. Every call is authenticated as the user's connection and reaches only what that connection's authorization allows, which the provider enforces on every request; the endpoints documented here are the ones this skill uses, and any other endpoint of this app needs the user to ask for it by name. Default to read and list calls, and confirm every write or new connection with the user. This file also documents the three constructs that turn a Constant Contact connection into automation, in the order they are used: the connection (the first step), a hosted function that runs a Constant Contact action through the Maton SDK, and a trigger that calls that function on a schedule or on an event. Those sections are the platform's own reference text, shared with the api-gateway skill, with Constant Contact examples; they add no Constant Contact capability - Constant Contact is not an event source, a trigger cannot read Constant Contact data, and the files under `references/<source>/triggers.md` are the platform's event catalogues for the sources Maton offers (time, Calendly, GitHub, Gmail, HubSpot, Linear, Notion, Slack, Stripe).
Usage Guidance
Install only if you need an agent to administer Constant Contact through Maton. Review every requested write, bulk operation, campaign send, function deploy, trigger, or destination carefully, confirm exact resource IDs and data flow, and revoke unused connections or automation when the task is done.
Capability Assessment
ℹ Credentials
Network access, OAuth, and marketing/contact data access are necessary for this integration, but users should recognize it can access personal contact data and send or schedule campaigns when authorized.
✓ Install Mechanism
Installation uses pinned Maton CLI options through npm or Homebrew, with no bundled executable scripts in the artifact; raw HTTP with MATON_API_KEY is documented only as a fallback when the CLI cannot be installed.
ℹ Instruction Scope
The instructions are broad because they include Maton function and trigger platform references, but they repeatedly scope ordinary Constant Contact use to API calls, require explicit approval for writes, and treat hosted automation, destinations, and local --exec handling as separate user-approved actions.
ℹ Persistence & Privilege
Maton login stores tokens in the OS credential store, and connections, hosted functions, triggers, and destinations can persist beyond one session; the artifact discloses this and gives approval, scoping, and cleanup guidance.
✓ Purpose & Capability
The skill clearly states it manages Constant Contact contacts, lists, campaigns, segments, bulk operations, and analytics, including write-capable operations; those capabilities match the stated purpose.
How to Use
  1. Make sure OpenClaw is installed (local or Docker)
  2. Run the install command in chat: /install constant-contact
  3. After installation, invoke the skill by name or use /constant-contact
  4. Provide required inputs per the skill's parameter spec and get structured output
Version History
v1.2.6
Simplify the login instructions to the code flow (maton login prints a link; finish with maton login --code <CODE>), drop the API Key subsection, and pin the Maton CLI install to 0.4.0.
v1.2.5
Switch the login instructions to the device flow (maton login prints a link and a user code; the --oauth flag is gone) and pin the Maton CLI install to 0.3.5.
v1.2.4
Pin the Maton CLI install to 0.3.4, the current release.
v1.2.3
Add this skill's own trigger policy to the shared Triggers section: the only destination it sets up is its own hosted function inside the platform, it does not forward events to third-party hosts, and it does not use event watch --exec; each trigger reference now also says this skill configures no trigger from that source on its own.
v1.2.2
Bring the skill to the current api-gateway baseline and tell the connection-to-function-to-trigger story: the shared Functions and Triggers sections open with an example for this app (a hosted function that performs one action for it through the Maton SDK, and the trigger that runs it - its own event source where it has one, otherwise a time schedule), the description says these constructs turn the connection into automation and add no capability of their own, the passthrough is described by its enforced boundary, CLI and SDK installs are pinned to 0.3.1, absolute API URLs are placeholders, and multipart uploads use mktemp.
v1.2.1
Address security-audit findings: disclose the api passthrough in the access-scope and description text, warn on irreversible connection deletion, add response data-minimization guidance, and correct app-specific auth and request-body notes
v1.2.0
CLI-first rewrite with the Maton SDK examples; clarify that the CLI and SDKs keep separate credential stores, and reword webhook egress warnings
v1.1.0
CLI-first rewrite: the maton CLI with OAuth login is the documented path, every example is a maton command, SDK examples added, and the raw HTTP fallback feeds the key on stdin instead of reading it from the environment
v1.0.6
- Removed the file: skill-card.md. - No code or feature changes; documentation only.
v1.0.5
- Updated API hostname from gateway.maton.ai/ctrl.maton.ai to api.maton.ai throughout documentation and examples. - Clarified that this integration is write-capable (supports create, update, delete, and bulk-modify operations) and includes segments in its scope. - Strongly emphasized user confirmation requirements for all write, bulk, and high-impact operations, with new step-by-step safety guidelines. - Improved security documentation, including explanations about connection management, resource scoping, and the need to use the correct Maton-Connection header for multi-account setups. - Removed LICENSE.txt file.
v1.0.4
- Expanded skill to include additional resources: tags, custom fields, segments, and bulk operations. - Improved and clarified documentation for query parameters, example usage, and response samples across all endpoints. - Added missing endpoints and examples for account management, sender email management, and subresource inclusion. - Updated instructions to specify required fields (such as `create_source` when creating contacts). - Refined skill description for greater accuracy and detail regarding supported features.
v1.0.3
- Added a new clawdbot metadata section specifying an emoji and required environment variable (MATON_API_KEY). - No changes to skill features or user-facing functionality; documentation metadata only.
v1.0.2
- Documentation in SKILL.md reformatted or rewritten. - No functional changes; only documentation was updated.
v1.0.1
No changes detected in this version. - Version number updated from 1.0 to 1.0.1. - No file changes present between this and the previous version.
v1.0.0
Constant Contact skill v1.0.0 – Initial release - Adds integration with Constant Contact API for managing contacts, email campaigns, lists, segments, tags, and custom fields. - Supports managed OAuth connections via Maton platform with simple connection management. - Provides endpoints for creating, updating, deleting, and listing contacts, lists, and tags. - Includes API references and Python code samples for quick start and connection management. - Requires network access and a valid Maton API key.
