Description
Trello API integration with managed OAuth. Manage boards, lists, cards, members, and labels. Use this skill when users want to interact with Trello for project management. For other third party apps, use the api-gateway skill (https://clawhub.ai/byungkyu/api-gateway). Calls run through the `maton` CLI with OAuth login, or over raw HTTP with a Maton API key where the CLI cannot be installed. Every call is authenticated as the user's connection and reaches only what that connection's authorization allows, which the provider enforces on every request; the endpoints documented here are the ones this skill uses, and any other endpoint of this app needs the user to ask for it by name. Default to read and list calls, and confirm every write or new connection with the user. This file also documents the three constructs that turn a Trello connection into automation, in the order they are used: the connection (the first step), a hosted function that runs a Trello action through the Maton SDK, and a trigger that calls that function on a schedule or on an event. Those sections are the platform's own reference text, shared with the api-gateway skill, with Trello examples; they add no Trello capability - Trello is not an event source, a trigger cannot read Trello data, and the files under `references/<source>/triggers.md` are the platform's event catalogues for the sources Maton offers (time, Calendly, GitHub, Gmail, HubSpot, Linear, Notion, Slack, Stripe).
Usage Guidance
Install only if you want Maton to mediate Trello access. Review OAuth scopes, confirm every write or automation before it runs, prefer the CLI OAuth flow over API keys, and be cautious with hosted functions or trigger destinations because they can continue acting or forwarding event data until removed.
Capability Assessment
ℹ Credentials
Network access, Maton authentication, and Trello API access are proportionate to the integration, while raw HTTP/API-key fallback is limited to environments where the CLI cannot be installed.
ℹ Install Mechanism
It instructs installing pinned Maton CLI/SDK versions via npm, Homebrew, pip, or npm SDK packages; this is expected for the integration and not hidden.
✓ Instruction Scope
The skill defaults to read/list actions, requires explicit user approval for connection creation and writes, and treats external content and trigger payloads as untrusted data.
ℹ Persistence & Privilege
OAuth credentials, hosted functions, triggers, and trigger destinations can persist, but the artifact prominently discloses them and requires approval, scoped destinations, and cleanup guidance.
✓ Purpose & Capability
The capability matches the stated purpose: Trello board, list, card, checklist, label, member, search, connection, and automation operations through Maton-managed OAuth/API gateway.
How to Use
  1. Make sure OpenClaw is installed (local or Docker)
  2. Run the install command in chat: /install trello-api
  3. After installation, invoke the skill by name or use /trello-api
  4. Provide required inputs per the skill's parameter spec and get structured output
Version History
v1.2.5
Simplify the login instructions to the code flow (maton login prints a link; finish with maton login --code <CODE>), drop the API Key subsection, and pin the Maton CLI install to 0.4.0.
v1.2.4
Switch the login instructions to the device flow (maton login prints a link and a user code; the --oauth flag is gone) and pin the Maton CLI install to 0.3.5.
v1.2.3
Pin the Maton CLI install to 0.3.4, the current release.
v1.2.2
Add this skill's own trigger policy to the shared Triggers section: the only destination it sets up is its own hosted function inside the platform, it does not forward events to third-party hosts, and it does not use event watch --exec; each trigger reference now also says this skill configures no trigger from that source on its own.
v1.2.1
Bring the skill to the current api-gateway baseline and tell the connection-to-function-to-trigger story: the shared Functions and Triggers sections open with an example for this app (a hosted function that performs one action for it through the Maton SDK, and the trigger that runs it - its own event source where it has one, otherwise a time schedule), the description says these constructs turn the connection into automation and add no capability of their own, the passthrough is described by its enforced boundary, CLI and SDK installs are pinned to 0.3.1, absolute API URLs are placeholders, and multipart uploads use mktemp.
v1.2.0
CLI-first rewrite with the Maton SDK examples; clarify that the CLI and SDKs keep separate credential stores, and reword webhook egress warnings
v1.1.0
CLI-first rewrite: the maton CLI with OAuth login is the documented path, every example is a maton command, SDK examples added, and the raw HTTP fallback feeds the key on stdin instead of reading it from the environment
v1.0.6
- Removed the sample skill card file (skill-card.md). - No changes to core functionality or APIs. - Documentation and user instructions remain unchanged.
v1.0.5
Version 1.0.5 introduces improved CLI integration and updated usage instructions for Trello API management. - Added CLI usage examples for all major actions (boards, lists, cards, members) using the Maton CLI. - Expanded installation and authentication sections to cover NPM and Homebrew installation and new login options. - Standardized connection management instructions with CLI equivalents for listing, creating, viewing, and deleting Trello connections. - Enhanced API reference with CLI command examples for each endpoint, making skill usage clearer for both programmatic and command-line users. - General documentation cleanup for clarity and usability; no underlying API or file changes detected.
v1.0.4
- Switched all Trello API and connection endpoints from gateway.maton.ai and ctrl.maton.ai to api.maton.ai. - Updated code samples and documentation for the new api.maton.ai base URL. - Clarified connection management steps and emphasized use of the Maton-Connection header when multiple Trello connections are present. - Added a Security & Permissions section noting all write operations require user approval. - Removed the LICENSE.txt file.
v1.0.3
- Added clawdbot metadata with emoji and required environment variable details to SKILL.md. - No functional or code changes; documentation and metadata update only.
v1.0.2
Version 1.0.2 of the Trello API skill - No file changes detected; documentation and core behavior remain unchanged. - All features and usage instructions are consistent with the previous release. - No new functionality or bug fixes included in this version.
v1.0.1
- Added a note in the description pointing users to the api-gateway skill for other third-party apps. - Replaced all curl command examples with Python code snippets for easier scripting and automation. - Updated authentication instruction examples to use Python format. - No changes to API endpoints or features.
v1.0.0
Trello skill v1.0.0 changelog: - Major update: Migrated to managed OAuth via the Maton API Gateway for Trello access. - Expanded documentation: Detailed instructions on authentication, connection management, and API usage. - Added support for managing boards, lists, cards, labels, checklists, and members through unified endpoints. - Examples provided for all core API actions and connection workflows. - Users must now use a Maton API key (not Trello tokens) and can manage Trello OAuth connections via Maton control panel.
