README (SKILL.md)

Pinecone

Operate Pinecone through your OOMOL-connected account. This skill calls the pinecone connector with the oo CLI; OOMOL injects credentials server-side, so you never handle raw tokens.

Category: AI, Data & Analytics. Exposes 12 action(s).

Running an action

Assume the user has already installed the oo CLI, signed in, and connected Pinecone. Do not run oo auth login or open the connection URL proactively — just run the action. Fall back to First-time setup only when a command actually fails with an auth or connection error.

1. Inspect the contract to get the authoritative input/output schema before building a payload:

oo connector schema "pinecone" --action "\x3Caction_name>"

2. Run the action with a JSON payload that matches the input schema:

oo connector run "pinecone" --action "\x3Caction_name>" --data '\x3Cjson>' --json
  • --data takes a JSON object string or @path/to/file.json; omit it to send {}.
  • The response is { "data": ..., "meta": { "executionId": "..." } }; the execution id lives under meta.executionId.

Each action below links to a reference file with its purpose and exact commands. Read the linked file, then fetch the live schema with oo connector schema before constructing --data.

Available actions

  • configure_index — Configure an existing Pinecone index.
  • create_index — Create a Pinecone serverless index.
  • delete_index — Delete one Pinecone index by name.
  • delete_vectors — Delete vectors from a Pinecone index namespace by IDs, filter, or deleteAll.
  • describe_index — Describe one Pinecone index by name.
  • fetch_vectors — Fetch Pinecone vectors by ID from one namespace.
  • get_index_stats — Get statistics for a Pinecone index.
  • list_indexes — List Pinecone indexes in the authenticated project.
  • list_vector_ids — List vector IDs in a Pinecone serverless index namespace.
  • query_vectors — Search a Pinecone index namespace with a query vector.
  • update_vector — Update one Pinecone vector or metadata-matched records in a namespace.
  • upsert_vectors — Upsert dense or sparse vectors into a Pinecone index namespace.

Safety

  • Read actions (get / list / search) are safe to run directly.
  • Create, update, send, or post actions change Pinecone state — confirm the exact payload and effect with the user before running.
  • Delete or remove actions are destructive — always confirm the target and get explicit approval first.

First-time setup

These are one-time steps — do not repeat them on every call. Run a step only when a command fails for the matching reason.

  • oo: command not found — install the oo CLI (other platforms: \x3Chttps://cli.oomol.com/install-guide.md>):

    curl -fsSL https://cli.oomol.com/install.sh | bash # macOS / Linux

    irm https://cli.oomol.com/install.ps1 | iex # Windows PowerShell

  • Not signed in / authentication error — sign in to your OOMOL account once:

    oo auth login

  • scope_missing / credential_expired / app_not_ready / app_not_found — Pinecone is not connected, or the connection expired or lacks a scope. Connect once (auth type: API key) at:

    https://console.oomol.com/app-connections?provider=pinecone

  • HTTP 402 / OOMOL_INSUFFICIENT_CREDIT — billing stop. Recharge at https://console.oomol.com/billing/token-recharge before retrying.

Usage Guidance
Install this only if you intend to let the agent operate your Pinecone account through OOMOL. Review write and delete payloads carefully before approval, especially delete_index, delete_vectors, update_vector, upsert_vectors, and configure_index, and only run the oo CLI installer or account connection steps if you trust OOMOL and need this integration.

Capability Assessment
Purpose & Capability
The skill's stated purpose is to operate Pinecone through the OOMOL oo CLI, and its listed capabilities match that purpose: list, describe, fetch, query, create, configure, update, upsert, and delete Pinecone resources.
Instruction Scope
Runtime instructions are scoped to inspecting the live Pinecone connector schema and running named Pinecone connector actions; destructive and write actions explicitly require user confirmation.
Install Mechanism
The skill is markdown-only and has no bundled executable code, but its first-time setup includes a disclosed curl/PowerShell installer for the oo CLI if the command is missing.
Credentials
Allowed tool access is limited to Bash commands matching oo usage, which is proportionate for an OOMOL connector skill; no broad local file indexing, unrelated command execution, or hidden data access was found.
Persistence & Privilege
The skill relies on an OOMOL-connected Pinecone account with server-side credential handling, so credentials and account access persist outside the skill, but this is disclosed and expected for the integration.
How to Use
  1. Make sure OpenClaw is installed (local or Docker)
  2. Run the install command in chat: /install oo-pinecone
  3. After installation, invoke the skill by name or use /oo-pinecone
  4. Provide required inputs per the skill's parameter spec and get structured output
Version History
v1.0.0
- Operates Pinecone through the OOMOL `oo` CLI connector with server-side credential handling. - Adds 12 actions for managing indexes, including create, configure, describe, list, stats, and delete. - Supports vector workflows for upsert, query, fetch, update, list IDs, and delete operations. - Requires live schema inspection before each action so payloads match current Pinecone connector contracts. - Includes safety guidance for write and destructive actions, with explicit confirmation required before state changes.
