README (SKILL.md)

Control D

Operate Control D through your OOMOL-connected account. This skill calls the control_d connector with the oo CLI; OOMOL injects credentials server-side, so you never handle raw tokens.

Category: Security & Identity, Developer Tools. Exposes 8 action(s).

Running an action

Assume the user has already installed the oo CLI, signed in, and connected Control D. Do not run oo auth login or open the connection URL proactively — just run the action. Fall back to First-time setup only when a command actually fails with an auth or connection error.

1. Inspect the contract to get the authoritative input/output schema before building a payload:

oo connector schema "control_d" --action "\x3Caction_name>"

2. Run the action with a JSON payload that matches the input schema:

oo connector run "control_d" --action "\x3Caction_name>" --data '\x3Cjson>' --json
  • --data takes a JSON object string or @path/to/file.json; omit it to send {}.
  • The response is { "data": ..., "meta": { "executionId": "..." } }; the execution id lives under meta.executionId.

Each action below links to a reference file with its purpose and exact commands. Read the linked file, then fetch the live schema with oo connector schema before constructing --data.

Available actions

  • delete_profile_rule — Delete one root-folder custom DNS rule from a Control D profile.
  • get_current_ip — Return the current IP address and datacenter seen by the Control D API for troubleshooting API token allowed-IP issues.
  • get_profile — Fetch one Control D profile by primary key.
  • list_profile_rules — List the root-folder custom DNS rules configured on a Control D profile.
  • list_profiles — List the Control D profiles available to the authenticated API token.
  • list_service_categories — List the Control D service categories that can be used for service discovery.
  • list_services_by_category — List the Control D services available in one service category.
  • upsert_profile_rule — Create or replace root-folder custom DNS rules on a Control D profile for one or more hostname patterns.

Safety

  • Read actions (get / list / search) are safe to run directly.
  • Create, update, send, or post actions change Control D state — confirm the exact payload and effect with the user before running.
  • Delete or remove actions are destructive — always confirm the target and get explicit approval first.

First-time setup

These are one-time steps — do not repeat them on every call. Run a step only when a command fails for the matching reason.

  • oo: command not found — install the oo CLI (other platforms: \x3Chttps://cli.oomol.com/install-guide.md>):

    curl -fsSL https://cli.oomol.com/install.sh | bash # macOS / Linux

    irm https://cli.oomol.com/install.ps1 | iex # Windows PowerShell

  • Not signed in / authentication error — sign in to your OOMOL account once:

    oo auth login

  • scope_missing / credential_expired / app_not_ready / app_not_found — Control D is not connected, or the connection expired or lacks a scope. Connect once (auth type: API key) at:

    https://console.oomol.com/app-connections?provider=control_d

  • HTTP 402 / OOMOL_INSUFFICIENT_CREDIT — billing stop. Recharge at https://console.oomol.com/billing/token-recharge before retrying.

Usage Guidance
Install only if you trust OOMOL and are comfortable letting the connected account manage Control D profiles and DNS rules. Review any create/update/delete payload carefully before approving it, and prefer installing the oo CLI through a verified package or manual installation path rather than piping a remote script directly into a shell.

Capability Assessment
Purpose & Capability
The documented actions match the stated purpose: listing Control D profiles/services/rules, fetching profile data, checking current IP diagnostics, and creating/replacing or deleting Control D profile rules.
Instruction Scope
The trigger wording is broad for Control D mentions, but the skill is service-specific and its safety section requires exact user confirmation before create/update/delete operations.
Install Mechanism
First-time setup includes curl/PowerShell remote install commands for the oo CLI, but they are documented as fallback steps only after oo is missing and are outside the declared Bash(oo *) tool scope.
Credentials
The declared tool scope is limited to Bash(oo *), credentials are described as injected server-side by OOMOL, and no broad local file indexing or unrelated environment access is requested.
Persistence & Privilege
The skill uses an authenticated OOMOL/Control D connection and can persistently modify DNS rules, but this is purpose-aligned and disclosed, with explicit approval required for mutating and destructive actions.
How to Use
  1. Make sure OpenClaw is installed (local or Docker)
  2. Run the install command in chat: /install oo-control-d
  3. After installation, invoke the skill by name or use /oo-control-d
  4. Provide required inputs per the skill's parameter spec and get structured output
Version History
v1.0.0
- Initial release of `oo-control-d`, an OOMOL skill for operating Control D through the `control_d` connector and `oo` CLI. - Supports profile discovery and lookup with `list_profiles` and `get_profile`. - Provides root-folder custom DNS rule management, including listing rules, creating or replacing rules, and deleting rules. - Includes Control D service discovery via service categories and services within a selected category. - Adds current-IP diagnostics for troubleshooting Control D API token allowed-IP restrictions. - Documents safe execution flow, live schema inspection before each action, and confirmation requirements for write and delete operations.
