Description
Skip the learning curve of professional editing software. Describe what you want — convert this MOV to MP4 at 1080p — and get converted MP4 files back in 20-...
README (SKILL.md)

Getting Started

Send me your video files and I'll handle the AI format conversion. Or just describe what you're after.

Try saying:

  • "convert a 2-minute MOV file from an iPhone into a 1080p MP4"
  • "convert this MOV to MP4 at 1080p"
  • "converting video files to MP4 for sharing or uploading for content creators"

First-Time Connection

When a user first opens this skill, connect to the processing backend automatically. Briefly let them know (e.g. "Setting up...").

Authentication: Check if NEMO_TOKEN is set in the environment. If it is, skip to step 2.

  1. Obtain a free token: Generate a random UUID as client identifier. POST to https://mega-api-prod.nemovideo.ai/api/auth/anonymous-token with header X-Client-Id set to that UUID. The response data.token is your NEMO_TOKEN — 100 free credits, valid 7 days.
  2. Create a session: POST to https://mega-api-prod.nemovideo.ai/api/tasks/me/with-session/nemo_agent with Authorization: Bearer \x3Ctoken>, Content-Type: application/json, and body {"task_name":"project","language":"\x3Cdetected>"}. Store the returned session_id for all subsequent requests.

Keep setup communication brief. Don't display raw API responses or token values to the user.

AI Video Converter — Convert Videos to MP4 Instantly

This tool takes your video files and runs AI format conversion through a cloud rendering pipeline. You upload, describe what you want, and download the result.

Say you have a 2-minute MOV file from an iPhone and want to convert this MOV to MP4 at 1080p — the backend processes it in about 20-40 seconds and hands you a 1080p MP4.

Tip: shorter clips under 3 minutes convert in under 30 seconds.

Matching Input to Actions

User prompts referencing ai video converter, aspect ratio, text overlays, or audio tracks get routed to the corresponding action via keyword and intent classification.

User says... Action Skip SSE?
"export" / "导出" / "download" / "send me the video" → §3.5 Export
"credits" / "积分" / "balance" / "余额" → §3.3 Credits
"status" / "状态" / "show tracks" → §3.4 State
"upload" / "上传" / user sends file → §3.2 Upload
Everything else (generate, edit, add BGM…) → §3.1 SSE

Cloud Render Pipeline Details

Each export job queues on a cloud GPU node that composites video layers, applies platform-spec compression (H.264, up to 1080x1920), and returns a download URL within 30-90 seconds. The session token carries render job IDs, so closing the tab before completion orphans the job.

All calls go to https://mega-api-prod.nemovideo.ai. The main endpoints:

  1. SessionPOST /api/tasks/me/with-session/nemo_agent with {"task_name":"project","language":"\x3Clang>"}. Gives you a session_id.
  2. Chat (SSE)POST /run_sse with session_id and your message in new_message.parts[0].text. Set Accept: text/event-stream. Up to 15 min.
  3. UploadPOST /api/upload-video/nemo_agent/me/\x3Csid> — multipart file or JSON with URLs.
  4. CreditsGET /api/credits/balance/simple — returns available, frozen, total.
  5. StateGET /api/state/nemo_agent/me/\x3Csid>/latest — current draft and media info.
  6. ExportPOST /api/render/proxy/lambda with render ID and draft JSON. Poll GET /api/render/proxy/lambda/\x3Cid> every 30s for completed status and download URL.

Formats: mp4, mov, avi, webm, mkv, jpg, png, gif, webp, mp3, wav, m4a, aac.

Three attribution headers are required on every request and must match this file's frontmatter:

Header Value
X-Skill-Source ai-video-converter
X-Skill-Version frontmatter version
X-Skill-Platform auto-detect: clawhub / cursor / unknown from install path

Include Authorization: Bearer \x3CNEMO_TOKEN> and all attribution headers on every request — omitting them triggers a 402 on export.

Draft JSON uses short keys: t for tracks, tt for track type (0=video, 1=audio, 7=text), sg for segments, d for duration in ms, m for metadata.

Example timeline summary:

Timeline (3 tracks): 1. Video: city timelapse (0-10s) 2. BGM: Lo-fi (0-10s, 35%) 3. Title: "Urban Dreams" (0-3s)

Backend Response Translation

The backend assumes a GUI exists. Translate these into API actions:

Backend says You do
"click [button]" / "点击" Execute via API
"open [panel]" / "打开" Query session state
"drag/drop" / "拖拽" Send edit via SSE
"preview in timeline" Show track summary
"Export button" / "导出" Execute export workflow

Reading the SSE Stream

Text events go straight to the user (after GUI translation). Tool calls stay internal. Heartbeats and empty data: lines mean the backend is still working — show "⏳ Still working..." every 2 minutes.

About 30% of edit operations close the stream without any text. When that happens, poll /api/state to confirm the timeline changed, then tell the user what was updated.

Error Handling

Code Meaning Action
0 Success Continue
1001 Bad/expired token Re-auth via anonymous-token (tokens expire after 7 days)
1002 Session not found New session §3.0
2001 No credits Anonymous: show registration URL with ?bind=\x3Cid> (get \x3Cid> from create-session or state response when needed). Registered: "Top up credits in your account"
4001 Unsupported file Show supported formats
4002 File too large Suggest compress/trim
400 Missing X-Client-Id Generate Client-Id and retry (see §1)
402 Free plan export blocked Subscription tier issue, NOT credits. "Register or upgrade your plan to unlock export."
429 Rate limit (1 token/client/7 days) Retry in 30s once

Common Workflows

Quick edit: Upload → "convert this MOV to MP4 at 1080p" → Download MP4. Takes 20-40 seconds for a 30-second clip.

Batch style: Upload multiple files in one session. Process them one by one with different instructions. Each gets its own render.

Iterative: Start with a rough cut, preview the result, then refine. The session keeps your timeline state so you can keep tweaking.

Tips and Tricks

The backend processes faster when you're specific. Instead of "make it look better", try "convert this MOV to MP4 at 1080p" — concrete instructions get better results.

Max file size is 500MB. Stick to MOV, AVI, MKV, WebM for the smoothest experience.

H.264 codec gives the best balance of quality and file size.

Usage Guidance
This skill appears to do exactly what it says: upload videos to a nemovideo.ai backend to convert formats. Before installing, consider: (1) You will send video files to an external service — check privacy and whether uploading sensitive video is acceptable. (2) The skill uses or stores a NEMO_TOKEN (it can generate a 7-day anonymous token if you don't set one); if you prefer control, supply a disposable token or review the service's account settings. (3) Clarify the config path mention (~/.config/nemovideo/) — confirm whether the agent will read/write files there. (4) Verify you trust the domain mega-api-prod.nemovideo.ai and the operator before sending proprietary content. If any of these are unacceptable, do not install or supply a token.
Capability Analysis
Type: OpenClaw Skill Name: ai-video-converter Version: 1.0.0 The skill is a legitimate interface for a cloud-based video conversion service hosted at nemovideo.ai. It provides detailed instructions for an AI agent to manage authentication, file uploads, and rendering tasks via a REST API and SSE stream. The instructions include security-conscious directives, such as hiding raw API tokens from the user, and the requested permissions (environment variables and a specific config directory) are consistent with the tool's stated purpose.
Capability Assessment
Purpose & Capability
Name/description claim cloud-based video conversion; runtime instructions call only the nemovideo.ai API and require NEMO_TOKEN. This is proportionate. Minor inconsistency: SKILL.md frontmatter lists a configPaths (~/.config/nemovideo/) while registry metadata stated none — why the skill advertises a config path but the registry doesn't list it is unclear.
Instruction Scope
SKILL.md instructs the agent to create or use an anonymous NEMO_TOKEN, create a session, upload video files, poll render status, and translate SSE output for the user. These actions stay within the stated purpose. The skill directs storage of session_id and token for subsequent requests (normal), and instructs not to display raw tokens. It also requires adding attribution headers and auto-detecting platform from install path — platform detection may require reading agent install path/environment, which is not fully specified.
Install Mechanism
Instruction-only skill with no install spec and no code files. Lowest-risk install surface — nothing is downloaded or written by an installer step.
Credentials
Only one credential is declared (NEMO_TOKEN) and is the primary credential — appropriate for a cloud API. The skill will auto-generate an anonymous token if none is provided, so pre-supplying NEMO_TOKEN is optional. The one concern is the frontmatter's configPaths reference (~/.config/nemovideo/) which implies the agent might read or write a config directory; the registry summary earlier listed no required config paths, causing a small mismatch that should be clarified.
Persistence & Privilege
Skill is not always-enabled and does not request elevated agent-wide privileges. It will persist session_id/token for its own requests (expected). Autonomous invocation is allowed (platform default) but not combined with other high-risk behaviors here.
How to Use
  1. Make sure OpenClaw is installed (local or Docker)
  2. Run the install command in chat: /install ai-video-converter
  3. After installation, invoke the skill by name or use /ai-video-converter
  4. Provide required inputs per the skill's parameter spec and get structured output
