README (SKILL.md)

SearchApi

Operate SearchApi through your OOMOL-connected account. This skill calls the search_api connector with the oo CLI; OOMOL injects credentials server-side, so you never handle raw tokens.

Category: Data & Analytics, Maps & Location. Exposes 5 action(s).

Running an action

Assume the user has already installed the oo CLI, signed in, and connected SearchApi. Do not run oo auth login or open the connection URL proactively — just run the action. Fall back to First-time setup only when a command actually fails with an auth or connection error.

1. Inspect the contract to get the authoritative input/output schema before building a payload:

oo connector schema "search_api" --action "\x3Caction_name>"

2. Run the action with a JSON payload that matches the input schema:

oo connector run "search_api" --action "\x3Caction_name>" --data '\x3Cjson>' --json
  • --data takes a JSON object string or @path/to/file.json; omit it to send {}.
  • The response is { "data": ..., "meta": { "executionId": "..." } }; the execution id lives under meta.executionId.

Each action below links to a reference file with its purpose and exact commands. Read the linked file, then fetch the live schema with oo connector schema before constructing --data.

Available actions

  • get_account_info — Retrieve account usage statistics for the connected SearchApi API key.
  • get_cached_search_html — Retrieve one cached SearchApi search result in HTML format by search identifier.
  • get_cached_search_json — Retrieve one cached SearchApi search result in JSON format by search identifier.
  • get_locations — Look up canonical SearchApi locations for geo-targeted search queries.
  • search — Run one SearchApi search request with the first-pass common query parameters.

Safety

  • Read actions (get / list / search) are safe to run directly.
  • Create, update, send, or post actions change SearchApi state — confirm the exact payload and effect with the user before running.
  • Delete or remove actions are destructive — always confirm the target and get explicit approval first.

First-time setup

These are one-time steps — do not repeat them on every call. Run a step only when a command fails for the matching reason.

  • oo: command not found — install the oo CLI (other platforms: \x3Chttps://cli.oomol.com/install-guide.md>):

    curl -fsSL https://cli.oomol.com/install.sh | bash # macOS / Linux

    irm https://cli.oomol.com/install.ps1 | iex # Windows PowerShell

  • Not signed in / authentication error — sign in to your OOMOL account once:

    oo auth login

  • scope_missing / credential_expired / app_not_ready / app_not_found — SearchApi is not connected, or the connection expired or lacks a scope. Connect once (auth type: API key) at:

    https://console.oomol.com/app-connections?provider=search_api

  • HTTP 402 / OOMOL_INSUFFICIENT_CREDIT — billing stop. Recharge at https://console.oomol.com/billing/token-recharge before retrying.

Usage Guidance
Install only if you are comfortable using OOMOL as the intermediary for your SearchApi account. If the `oo` CLI is not already installed, review OOMOL's installer source or use a trusted installation method before running the documented remote installer.

Capability Assessment
Purpose & Capability
The artifacts consistently describe operating SearchApi through OOMOL's `search_api` connector for search, cached-result retrieval, location lookup, and account usage checks.
Instruction Scope
The trigger wording is broad for SearchApi-related tasks, but the runtime instructions are scoped to specific `oo connector schema` and `oo connector run` actions and include confirmation guidance for any future mutating actions.
Install Mechanism
The skill documents a `curl | bash` and PowerShell remote installer for the OOMOL CLI when `oo` is missing; this is disclosed as first-time setup, but users should treat it as supply-chain-sensitive.
Credentials
The requested environment access is limited to `Bash(oo *)`, and using the OOMOL CLI plus server-side SearchApi credentials is proportionate to the stated connector purpose.
Persistence & Privilege
No background workers, persistence mechanisms, local indexing, destructive commands, or credential exfiltration behavior were found; credentials are disclosed as handled server-side by OOMOL.
How to Use
  1. Make sure OpenClaw is installed (local or Docker)
  2. Run the install command in chat: /install oo-search-api
  3. After installation, invoke the skill by name or use /oo-search-api
  4. Provide required inputs per the skill's parameter spec and get structured output
Version History
v1.0.0
- Initial release of the `oo-search-api` skill for operating SearchApi through an OOMOL-connected account without handling raw API tokens. - Adds a `search` action for running SearchApi search requests with common first-pass query parameters. - Adds cached result retrieval in both JSON and HTML formats via `get_cached_search_json` and `get_cached_search_html`. - Adds `get_locations` for finding canonical SearchApi locations to support geo-targeted searches. - Adds `get_account_info` for checking usage statistics associated with the connected SearchApi API key. - Documents the recommended workflow for inspecting live action schemas before constructing payloads and running connector actions through the `oo` CLI.
