README (SKILL.md)

Lead Finder Outreach

Build a defensible company shortlist by niche and geography. The default deliverable is a 50 companies list with public-source evidence, public contact paths, and CSV-friendly fields. Outreach copy is optional in this first version.

When to Use

Use this skill when the user wants:

  • a niche + geography-based prospect list
  • public contact-path research
  • a ready-to-contact shortlist for outbound or CRM import
  • optional outreach copy tied to verified public signals

Do not use this skill for:

  • private-data enrichment
  • mass email scraping
  • guaranteed direct email lists
  • vague "just get me leads" requests without at least a niche or geography

Inputs

Collect the minimum viable request before researching:

  • niche or industry
  • location or geography
  • fit criteria in one sentence

Optional:

  • target company count
  • exclusions
  • output format preference
  • seller context if outreach copy is needed

If the user does not specify a count, default to 50 companies.

Rules

  • Use public-source evidence only.
  • Prioritize official websites, public profiles, directories, and visible contact paths.
  • Do not fabricate emails, phone numbers, headcount, clients, or performance claims.
  • Do not include a company unless you can explain why it fits.
  • If fewer than 50 defensible companies exist, return the strongest list and explain the gap.

Workflow

  1. Parse the request into niche, location, fit criteria, and count.
  2. Research candidates from public sources only.
  3. Validate each company against the fit criteria.
  4. Capture the required fields in a consistent schema.
  5. Rank and trim to the final shortlist.
  6. Generate outreach variants only if the user asks for them.
  7. Present the pack in a skimmable, reusable format.

Output Expectations

The final answer should include:

  • a short request summary
  • a clearly structured shortlist
  • public source-backed company entries
  • contact paths
  • notes on coverage gaps or confidence where needed

If the user explicitly asks for outreach copy, include 2-3 cold outreach email variants.

If the user asks for CSV-style output, keep field names stable and machine-friendly.

Quality Bar

Before finalizing:

  • verify every company has a public URL
  • verify every company has at least one usable contact path
  • verify every outreach angle is tied to a real public signal when outreach is requested
  • remove duplicates and weak borderline entries

The result should feel like a clean, defensible prospect shortlist, not a scraped dump.

Usage Guidance
This skill appears coherent and limited to public-source research, but exercise normal caution before using outputs for outreach: 1) Verify each contact path and URL the skill cites — LLMs can hallucinate or misattribute details even when instructed not to. 2) Do not rely on this pack for private-data enrichment or for harvesting emails that are not publicly posted. 3) Ensure any outreach complies with applicable laws (CAN-SPAM, GDPR, local rules) and with the target site's terms of use. 4) If a future version requests API keys, account tokens, or installs tools for scraping or bulk emailing, treat that as a red flag unless you clearly understand and approve the external service and its permissions. 5) Prefer manual or automated verification of at least a sample of entries before importing into a CRM or sending first-touch outreach.
Capability Analysis
Type: OpenClaw Skill Name: lead-finder-outreach Version: 1.0.0 The lead-finder-outreach skill bundle is a well-documented tool for generating business prospect lists from public sources. It contains no executable code and explicitly instructs the AI agent to avoid private data enrichment, fabrication of contact details, or use of non-public datasets (SKILL.md, research-workflow.md). The instructions are consistent with its stated purpose and do not exhibit signs of prompt injection or malicious intent.
Capability Assessment
Purpose & Capability
Name/description (finding agency-ready prospects, public contact paths, 50-company shortlists) align with the skill's contents. The skill asks for no unrelated binaries, credentials, or config paths and does not attempt to access resources beyond public web sources, which is proportionate for this purpose.
Instruction Scope
SKILL.md and referenced docs narrowly define a public-sources-only workflow, require minimal input (niche, location, fit criteria), and explicitly forbid fabricating private data or mass-scraping. One practical risk to note: language models can hallucinate contact details or overstate confidence even when instructions forbid fabrication — the skill properly documents verification steps, but outputs should be spot-checked against the cited public URLs before use.
Install Mechanism
No install spec and no code files — instruction-only skill. Nothing is downloaded or written to disk by the skill bundle itself, which minimizes supply-chain and execution risk.
Credentials
The skill declares no required environment variables, no primary credential, and no config paths. That matches the documented behavior of researching public web sources and producing formatted output.
Persistence & Privilege
always is false and the skill does not request persistent system-level privileges or modifications. Default autonomous invocation is allowed (platform default) but not granted extra power by the skill itself.
How to Use
  1. Make sure OpenClaw is installed (local or Docker)
  2. Run the install command in chat: /install lead-finder-outreach
  3. After installation, invoke the skill by name or use /lead-finder-outreach
  4. Provide required inputs per the skill's parameter spec and get structured output
