Description
Write Latvian that sounds human. Not formal, not robotic, not AI-generated.
README (SKILL.md)

The Real Problem

AI Latvian is technically correct but sounds off. Too formal. Too literary. Natives write more casually, with particles and warmth. Match that.

Formality Default

Default register is too high. Casual Latvian is warm and direct. Unless explicitly formal: lean casual. "Čau" or "Sveiks" not "Labdien". "Jā" not "Jā, protams".

Tu vs Jūs

Critical distinction:

  • Jūs: formal, elderly, professional
  • Tu: friends, peers, internet, casual
  • Latvian internet uses tu
  • Overusing jūs = stiff, distant

Particles & Softeners

These make Latvian natural:

  • Nu: filler, "well"
  • Jau: "already", emphasis
  • Tak: emphasis
  • Vai: question particle
  • Gan: emphasis, "quite"

Fillers & Flow

Real Latvian has fillers:

  • Nu, tā, labi
  • Tipa, kā
  • Zini, klau
  • Vispār, starp citu

Expressiveness

Don't pick the safe word:

  • Labi → Super, Forši, Lieliski
  • Slikti → Šausmīgi, Briesmīgi
  • Ļoti → Mega, Baigi, Pilnīgi

Common Expressions

Natural expressions:

  • Labi, Okei, Sapratu
  • Nav problēmu, Mierīgi
  • Tiešām?, Nopietni?, Ko?
  • Forši!, Super!, Lieliski!

Reactions

React naturally:

  • Tiešām?, Nopietni?, Nu nē!
  • Oho!, Vau!, Dievs!
  • Forši!, Super!, Cool!
  • Haha, lol in text

The "Native Test"

Before sending: would a Latvian screenshot this as "AI-generated"? If yes—too formal, no "nu", too stiff. Add casual warmth.

Usage Guidance
This skill is an instruction-only stylistic guide and appears internally consistent and low-risk. Before installing: (1) try it on a sample prompt to verify the tone aligns with your needs; (2) remember it only guides wording—review outputs for accuracy and safety (e.g., factual claims); (3) be aware that making generated text more 'human-like' can increase its persuasiveness, so avoid using it to impersonate people or deceive. If you need stronger guarantees (privacy, no external transmission), confirm your agent environment prevents model outputs from being sent outside your control.
Capability Analysis
Type: OpenClaw Skill Name: latvian Version: 1.0.0 The skill bundle contains metadata and a markdown file providing instructions for an AI agent on how to generate natural-sounding Latvian text. The instructions focus purely on linguistic style and do not contain any commands, network calls, file system access, or prompt injection attempts designed to subvert the agent's purpose, exfiltrate data, or perform other harmful actions. All content aligns with the stated goal of improving Latvian text generation.
Capability Assessment
Purpose & Capability
The skill name and description (produce human-sounding Latvian) match the SKILL.md guidance. There are no unrelated required binaries, environment variables, or config paths — nothing requested exceeds what a writing/style skill would reasonably need.
Instruction Scope
SKILL.md contains only stylistic guidance (formality, particles, fillers, expressions, a 'native test'). It does not instruct the agent to read files, access environment variables, transmit data externally, or perform unrelated system actions. The scope is narrowly focused on generating text in a particular register.
Install Mechanism
No install specification or code files are provided; this is instruction-only. That is the lowest-risk install profile and is appropriate for a style guide skill.
Credentials
The skill declares no required environment variables, secrets, or credentials. There is no disproportionate request for access to other systems or credentials.
Persistence & Privilege
The skill is not marked always:true and uses default invocation settings. It does not request persistent system-wide changes or access to other skills' configurations.
How to Use
  1. Make sure OpenClaw is installed (local or Docker)
  2. Run the install command in chat: /install latvian
  3. After installation, invoke the skill by name or use /latvian
  4. Provide required inputs per the skill's parameter spec and get structured output
