Description
Plan Indonesia trips with island-routing logic, verified entry guidance, weather-aware logistics, and practical local execution.
README (SKILL.md)

Setup

If ~/indonesia/ does not exist or is empty, read setup.md and start naturally.

When to Use

User is planning an Indonesia trip and needs practical guidance beyond generic highlights: visa pathway, island choice, route design, surf and weather fit, transport tradeoffs, and on-the-ground execution across a large archipelago.

Architecture

Memory lives in ~/indonesia/. See setup.md for first activation flow and memory-template.md for the file structure.

Core Rules

1. Route by Islands and Transfer Friction, Not by Postcard Count

Indonesia punishes over-routing. For most users, keep one main island cluster per week:

  • Bali plus Nusa or Bali plus Lombok
  • Java backbone with Yogyakarta and East Java
  • Flores and Komodo
  • Sumatra wildlife and volcanoes

2. Clear Entry Path First

Use entry-and-documents.md before recommending non-refundable flights. Visa-free, VOA, onward-proof expectations, passport validity, and Bali levy assumptions can change how safe the booking path is.

3. Match the Island to the User, Not the Hype

Always identify the user's real objective:

  • First trip and easy logistics
  • Surf and beach time
  • Diving and boats
  • Culture and temples
  • Volcanoes and hiking
  • Family pacing
  • Low-friction luxury or remote nature

4. Make Every Plan Season-Aware

Use weather-and-seasonality.md before locking islands, boat days, dive trips, volcano starts, or beach-heavy routes. Indonesia weather is not one national answer, and sea conditions matter as much as rain.

5. Treat Boats, Scooters, and Mountain Sun as Real Risk

Do not romanticize fast boats, scooters, or volcano starts:

  • Tight same-day boat plus flight chains are fragile
  • Beginner scooter recommendations are often bad advice
  • Heat, dehydration, altitude, rough roads, and poor clinic access change destination fit

6. Budget With Real Archipelago Math

Price the whole route, not the villa headline:

  • Domestic flight baggage
  • Boat tickets and harbor transfers
  • Driver days and airport friction
  • Tourist levy, visa fees, park fees, and guide costs
  • Cash-only moments outside major hubs

7. Deliver Operational Plans

Every output should include:

  • Base logic and what to skip
  • Day-by-day flow with realistic transfer windows
  • What must be booked early
  • Weather or sea-condition fallback
  • Safety, payment, and mobility notes for the chosen route

Common Traps

  • Treating Indonesia as "Bali and maybe something else" instead of an archipelago with very different operating conditions.
  • Trying Bali, Yogyakarta, Komodo, Gilis, and Sumatra in one short trip.
  • Assuming cards, ATMs, data, sidewalks, and English work equally well everywhere.
  • Booking fast boats and flights on the same day with no buffer.
  • Sending families or older travelers to Nusa Penida, Bromo, or Komodo without discussing stairs, roads, ladders, heat, or medical backup.
  • Giving one monsoon answer for the whole country.
  • Recommending scooters by default to users who are tired, inexperienced, or traveling in rain season.

Security & Privacy

Data that stays local: Trip preferences in ~/indonesia/

This skill does NOT: Access files outside ~/indonesia/ or make network requests.

Usage Guidance
This skill appears internally consistent for travel planning. Before installing: (1) Decide whether you’re comfortable with the skill creating and updating files in ~/indonesia/ (it stores trip notes and activation preferences there). (2) If you prefer not to persist trip data, tell the skill to operate 'only when I ask' or decline creation of local memory. (3) Confirm you trust the skill not to access other files or the network (the SKILL.md claims it won’t). (4) If you want extra caution, inspect the ~/indonesia/ files the first time they are created and back them up or remove them when you’re done.
Capability Analysis
Type: OpenClaw Skill Name: indonesia Version: 1.0.0 The 'Indonesia' skill bundle is a comprehensive travel planning tool designed to provide logistics, entry guidance, and itinerary support. All files, including SKILL.md and setup.md, contain legitimate travel-related instructions and data. The skill explicitly restricts its operations to a local directory (~/indonesia/) for memory persistence and disclaims any network or external file access, with no evidence of malicious intent, data exfiltration, or unauthorized execution.
Capability Assessment
Purpose & Capability
Name and description match the actual behavior: travel planning for Indonesia. The only declared external requirement is a local config path (~/indonesia/) used as the skill's memory store, which is reasonable for a trip-planning skill.
Instruction Scope
SKILL.md confines actions to reading/writing files under ~/indonesia/ and to using the included topic files; it explicitly states it will not access files outside that directory or make network requests. The runtime instructions ask the agent to prompt users about activation preferences, which gives some discretion but is documented and constrained. Users should be aware the skill may create and update files in ~/indonesia/ when asked to maintain continuity.
Install Mechanism
No install spec and no code files — instruction-only — so nothing is downloaded or written to the system beyond the local memory directory the skill intentionally uses.
Credentials
No environment variables, no credentials, and the single required config path (~/indonesia/) is proportionate to the purpose of storing trip memory and activation preferences.
Persistence & Privilege
The skill stores local memory under ~/indonesia/ when the user opts in; it is not always-enabled and does not request elevated privileges. The skill can be invoked autonomously by the agent (normal platform default) but its described activation flow recommends asking the user and treats 'only when I ask' as the safe default.
How to Use
  1. Make sure OpenClaw is installed (local or Docker)
  2. Run the install command in chat: /install indonesia
  3. After installation, invoke the skill by name or use /indonesia
  4. Provide required inputs per the skill's parameter spec and get structured output
