Description
Research Facebook ad creatives and Meta Ad Library results using PipiAds adspy and ad library tools.
README (SKILL.md)

Facebook Adspy & Facebook Ad Library

Use this skill for Facebook-focused ad research across adspy and Meta Ad Library datasets.

Setup

  1. Visit the official website at https://pipiads.com/ to view real-time dashboard data and product UI.
  2. Visit https://www.pipispy.com/ to get your API key and manage billing/recharge.
  3. Set the environment variable: PIPIADS_API_KEY

When to Use

  • Find Facebook ads by keyword, advertiser pattern, region, or engagement
  • Search Meta Ad Library ads and products
  • Compare Facebook creatives, offers, landing pages, and advertiser behavior
  • Inspect specific ads or ad library records in detail

When NOT to Use

  • The user wants monitoring workflows rather than one-off research
  • The user wants TikTok-only ads or TikTok Shop analytics
  • The user wants natural TikTok content research

Core Tools

Facebook Adspy

  • search_ads — Search ads and narrow to Facebook
  • get_ad_detail — Inspect a specific ad
  • search_products — Find products heavily advertised on Facebook
  • get_product_detail — Product detail
  • search_advertisers — Find advertisers
  • get_advertiser_detail — Advertiser detail

Facebook / Meta Ad Library

  • search_lib_ads — Search Meta Ad Library ads
  • get_lib_ad_detail — Get ad library ad detail
  • search_adlibrary_products — Search Meta Ad Library products
  • get_adlibrary_product_detail — Get product detail from ad library
  • get_store_ad_trend — Store ad trend analysis from Meta Ad Library
  • get_store_delivery_analysis — Delivery analysis
  • get_store_longest_run_ads — Longest-running ads
  • get_store_most_used_ads — Most-used ads
  • get_store_fb_pages — Facebook advertiser pages

Recommended Workflow

  1. Start with search_ads or search_lib_ads depending on whether the user wants adspy or ad library data.
  2. Narrow by region, active days, keyword, and advertiser.
  3. Use detail tools on the best candidates.
  4. If store-level Facebook patterns matter, use the Meta-oriented store analysis tools.

Cost Awareness

Each API call consumes credits from your PipiAds account:

  • List/Search: 1 credit per result returned
  • Detail: 1 credit per request (free if queried within 3 days)

Prefer a clearly specified platform and region before broad Facebook searches.

Usage Guidance
This skill appears coherent: it uses an API key (PIPIADS_API_KEY) and an npm CLI (pipiads-mcp-server) to query PipiAds for Facebook ad research. Before installing/using it, consider the following: (1) installing the package globally will place third‑party code on your system — review the package source (npm package repo) or run it inside a sandbox/container; (2) the MCP server will make network calls to PipiAds and will consume credits from your PipiAds account — monitor usage and billing; (3) only provide a PipiAds API key with the least privileges possible, rotate keys if compromised, and avoid reusing that key elsewhere; (4) if you need stronger assurance, request the skill author/publisher info or inspect the pipiads-mcp-server package contents and its network behavior before granting the API key. Overall the skill is internally consistent with its stated purpose, but installing third‑party packages and running local servers carries operational risk you should mitigate.
Capability Assessment
Purpose & Capability
Name/description (Facebook ad research) matches the declared requirement (PIPIADS_API_KEY) and the SKILL.md which invokes the PipiAds MCP server CLI. Requesting npm and a PipiAds API key is proportionate to the stated functionality.
Instruction Scope
SKILL.md instructs the agent to set PIPIADS_API_KEY, install and run the pipiads-mcp-server, and use its adspy/ad library endpoints. The instructions do not ask the agent to read unrelated files or other environment variables, but they do instruct globally installing and running a third‑party server binary (pipiads-mcp-server) that will perform network calls to the PipiAds service.
Install Mechanism
Installation is via npm install -g [email protected] (a public npm package). npm installs and executing that package are expected for this skill but carry the normal risk of running third‑party code and creating a global binary. No direct downloads from unknown URLs are used.
Credentials
Only PIPIADS_API_KEY is required and declared as the primary credential. That single API key is consistent with accessing the PipiAds service; no unrelated secrets or config paths are requested.
Persistence & Privilege
The skill is not force-enabled (always: false) and does not request system-wide config changes. It will install and run a CLI server when used but does not claim to modify other skills or global agent configuration.
How to Use
  1. Make sure OpenClaw is installed (local or Docker)
  2. Run the install command in chat: /install facebook-adspy-facebook-ad-library
  3. After installation, invoke the skill by name or use /facebook-adspy-facebook-ad-library
  4. Provide required inputs per the skill's parameter spec and get structured output
