README (SKILL.md)

DigitalOcean

Operate DigitalOcean through your OOMOL-connected account. This skill calls the digital_ocean connector with the oo CLI; OOMOL injects credentials server-side, so you never handle raw tokens.

Category: Developer Tools. Exposes 11 action(s).

Running an action

Assume the user has already installed the oo CLI, signed in, and connected DigitalOcean. Do not run oo auth login or open the connection URL proactively — just run the action. Fall back to First-time setup only when a command actually fails with an auth or connection error.

1. Inspect the contract to get the authoritative input/output schema before building a payload:

oo connector schema "digital_ocean" --action "\x3Caction_name>"

2. Run the action with a JSON payload that matches the input schema:

oo connector run "digital_ocean" --action "\x3Caction_name>" --data '\x3Cjson>' --json
  • --data takes a JSON object string or @path/to/file.json; omit it to send {}.
  • The response is { "data": ..., "meta": { "executionId": "..." } }; the execution id lives under meta.executionId.

Each action below links to a reference file with its purpose and exact commands. Read the linked file, then fetch the live schema with oo connector schema before constructing --data.

Available actions

  • get_account — Retrieve the current DigitalOcean account profile and team context for the connected token.
  • get_droplet — Retrieve one DigitalOcean Droplet by numeric droplet ID.
  • list_apps — List DigitalOcean App Platform apps with pagination and optional project enrichment.
  • list_databases — List DigitalOcean managed database clusters, optionally filtered by tag.
  • list_domain_records — List DNS records for one DigitalOcean domain, optionally filtered by record name or type.
  • list_domains — List DigitalOcean DNS domains with pagination.
  • list_droplets — List DigitalOcean Droplets with pagination and optional filtering by tag, name, or droplet type.
  • list_firewalls — List DigitalOcean cloud firewalls with pagination.
  • list_load_balancers — List DigitalOcean load balancers with pagination.
  • list_vpcs — List DigitalOcean VPC networks with pagination.
  • manage_droplet_lifecycle — Initiate a basic DigitalOcean Droplet lifecycle action such as reboot, shutdown, or power cycle.

Safety

  • Read actions (get / list / search) are safe to run directly.
  • Create, update, send, or post actions change DigitalOcean state — confirm the exact payload and effect with the user before running.
  • Delete or remove actions are destructive — always confirm the target and get explicit approval first.

First-time setup

These are one-time steps — do not repeat them on every call. Run a step only when a command fails for the matching reason.

  • oo: command not found — install the oo CLI (other platforms: \x3Chttps://cli.oomol.com/install-guide.md>):

    curl -fsSL https://cli.oomol.com/install.sh | bash # macOS / Linux

    irm https://cli.oomol.com/install.ps1 | iex # Windows PowerShell

  • Not signed in / authentication error — sign in to your OOMOL account once:

    oo auth login

  • scope_missing / credential_expired / app_not_ready / app_not_found — DigitalOcean is not connected, or the connection expired or lacks a scope. Connect once (auth type: API key) at:

    https://console.oomol.com/app-connections?provider=digital_ocean

  • HTTP 402 / OOMOL_INSUFFICIENT_CREDIT — billing stop. Recharge at https://console.oomol.com/billing/token-recharge before retrying.

Resources

Usage Guidance
Install only if you are comfortable connecting an OOMOL account to DigitalOcean and letting the agent use the oo connector. Treat droplet reboot, shutdown, and power-cycle requests as production-impacting operations: require an exact droplet ID, action, environment check, and explicit confirmation before running. Review the oo CLI installer source or use a verified installation method instead of blindly piping a remote script to the shell.

Capability Assessment
Purpose & Capability
The skill presents itself as for DigitalOcean searching and reading data, but it also exposes manage_droplet_lifecycle with droplet:update scope for reboot, shutdown, or power cycle actions that can disrupt services.
Instruction Scope
The trigger says to use the skill for any DigitalOcean request and the action guidance says to run actions after schema inspection; the safety section requires confirmation for create/update/delete-style actions but does not explicitly call out lifecycle downtime operations.
Install Mechanism
The first-time setup includes pipe-to-shell install commands for the oo CLI. This is disclosed and only for missing CLI setup, but it lacks checksum or signature verification guidance.
Credentials
Bash access is limited to oo commands and the use of OOMOL server-side DigitalOcean credentials fits the integration purpose, but the connected account may expose sensitive infrastructure inventory and operational control.
Persistence & Privilege
No background persistence, hidden local storage, or credential exfiltration is shown; credentials are described as injected server-side, while user login and account connection are one-time setup steps.
How to Use
  1. Make sure OpenClaw is installed (local or Docker)
  2. Run the install command in chat: /install oo-digital-ocean
  3. After installation, invoke the skill by name or use /oo-digital-ocean
  4. Provide required inputs per the skill's parameter spec and get structured output
Version History
v1.0.0
- Initial release of `oo-digital-ocean`, an OOMOL skill for operating DigitalOcean through the `digital_ocean` connector without handling raw API tokens locally. - Supports account and team context lookup for the connected DigitalOcean token. - Provides read access for core infrastructure resources, including Droplets, App Platform apps, managed databases, domains, DNS records, firewalls, load balancers, and VPC networks. - Includes pagination and common filters where supported, such as Droplet tag/name/type filters, database tag filters, and DNS record name/type filters. - Adds targeted Droplet operations, including fetching a single Droplet by ID and initiating basic lifecycle actions such as reboot, shutdown, and power cycle. - Documents safe execution patterns with schema inspection before each action and explicit confirmation requirements for state-changing operations.
