Description
Turn a 30-second vertical phone recording into 1080p Instagram-ready clips just by typing what you need. Whether it's editing vertical videos for Instagram R...
README (SKILL.md)

Getting Started

Got video clips to work with? Send it over and tell me what you need — I'll take care of the AI video editing.

Try saying:

  • "edit a 30-second vertical phone recording into a 1080p MP4"
  • "trim the clip, add text overlays, and fit it to a 9:16 Instagram Reel format"
  • "editing vertical videos for Instagram Reels and Stories for Instagram creators"

First-Time Connection

When a user first opens this skill, connect to the processing backend automatically. Briefly let them know (e.g. "Setting up...").

Authentication: Check if NEMO_TOKEN is set in the environment. If it is, skip to step 2.

  1. Obtain a free token: Generate a random UUID as client identifier. POST to https://mega-api-prod.nemovideo.ai/api/auth/anonymous-token with header X-Client-Id set to that UUID. The response data.token is your NEMO_TOKEN — 100 free credits, valid 7 days.
  2. Create a session: POST to https://mega-api-prod.nemovideo.ai/api/tasks/me/with-session/nemo_agent with Authorization: Bearer \x3Ctoken>, Content-Type: application/json, and body {"task_name":"project","language":"\x3Cdetected>"}. Store the returned session_id for all subsequent requests.

Keep setup communication brief. Don't display raw API responses or token values to the user.

Instagram Video Editor App Free — Edit and Export Instagram Videos

This tool takes your video clips and runs AI video editing through a cloud rendering pipeline. You upload, describe what you want, and download the result.

Say you have a 30-second vertical phone recording and want to trim the clip, add text overlays, and fit it to a 9:16 Instagram Reel format — the backend processes it in about 30-60 seconds and hands you a 1080p MP4.

Tip: vertical 9:16 video works perfectly for Reels and Stories output.

Matching Input to Actions

User prompts referencing instagram video editor app free, aspect ratio, text overlays, or audio tracks get routed to the corresponding action via keyword and intent classification.

User says... Action Skip SSE?
"export" / "导出" / "download" / "send me the video" → §3.5 Export
"credits" / "积分" / "balance" / "余额" → §3.3 Credits
"status" / "状态" / "show tracks" → §3.4 State
"upload" / "上传" / user sends file → §3.2 Upload
Everything else (generate, edit, add BGM…) → §3.1 SSE

Cloud Render Pipeline Details

Each export job queues on a cloud GPU node that composites video layers, applies platform-spec compression (H.264, up to 1080x1920), and returns a download URL within 30-90 seconds. The session token carries render job IDs, so closing the tab before completion orphans the job.

All calls go to https://mega-api-prod.nemovideo.ai. The main endpoints:

  1. SessionPOST /api/tasks/me/with-session/nemo_agent with {"task_name":"project","language":"\x3Clang>"}. Gives you a session_id.
  2. Chat (SSE)POST /run_sse with session_id and your message in new_message.parts[0].text. Set Accept: text/event-stream. Up to 15 min.
  3. UploadPOST /api/upload-video/nemo_agent/me/\x3Csid> — multipart file or JSON with URLs.
  4. CreditsGET /api/credits/balance/simple — returns available, frozen, total.
  5. StateGET /api/state/nemo_agent/me/\x3Csid>/latest — current draft and media info.
  6. ExportPOST /api/render/proxy/lambda with render ID and draft JSON. Poll GET /api/render/proxy/lambda/\x3Cid> every 30s for completed status and download URL.

Formats: mp4, mov, avi, webm, mkv, jpg, png, gif, webp, mp3, wav, m4a, aac.

Three attribution headers are required on every request and must match this file's frontmatter:

Header Value
X-Skill-Source instagram-video-editor-app-free
X-Skill-Version frontmatter version
X-Skill-Platform auto-detect: clawhub / cursor / unknown from install path

Every API call needs Authorization: Bearer \x3CNEMO_TOKEN> plus the three attribution headers above. If any header is missing, exports return 402.

Draft field mapping: t=tracks, tt=track type (0=video, 1=audio, 7=text), sg=segments, d=duration(ms), m=metadata.

Timeline (3 tracks): 1. Video: city timelapse (0-10s) 2. BGM: Lo-fi (0-10s, 35%) 3. Title: "Urban Dreams" (0-3s)

Backend Response Translation

The backend assumes a GUI exists. Translate these into API actions:

Backend says You do
"click [button]" / "点击" Execute via API
"open [panel]" / "打开" Query session state
"drag/drop" / "拖拽" Send edit via SSE
"preview in timeline" Show track summary
"Export button" / "导出" Execute export workflow

SSE Event Handling

Event Action
Text response Apply GUI translation (§4), present to user
Tool call/result Process internally, don't forward
heartbeat / empty data: Keep waiting. Every 2 min: "⏳ Still working..."
Stream closes Process final response

~30% of editing operations return no text in the SSE stream. When this happens: poll session state to verify the edit was applied, then summarize changes to the user.

Error Codes

  • 0 — success, continue normally
  • 1001 — token expired or invalid; re-acquire via /api/auth/anonymous-token
  • 1002 — session not found; create a new one
  • 2001 — out of credits; anonymous users get a registration link with ?bind=\x3Cid>, registered users top up
  • 4001 — unsupported file type; show accepted formats
  • 4002 — file too large; suggest compressing or trimming
  • 400 — missing X-Client-Id; generate one and retry
  • 402 — free plan export blocked; not a credit issue, subscription tier
  • 429 — rate limited; wait 30s and retry once

Common Workflows

Quick edit: Upload → "trim the clip, add text overlays, and fit it to a 9:16 Instagram Reel format" → Download MP4. Takes 30-60 seconds for a 30-second clip.

Batch style: Upload multiple files in one session. Process them one by one with different instructions. Each gets its own render.

Iterative: Start with a rough cut, preview the result, then refine. The session keeps your timeline state so you can keep tweaking.

Tips and Tricks

The backend processes faster when you're specific. Instead of "make it look better", try "trim the clip, add text overlays, and fit it to a 9:16 Instagram Reel format" — concrete instructions get better results.

Max file size is 500MB. Stick to MP4, MOV, AVI, WebM for the smoothest experience.

Export as MP4 with H.264 codec for best Instagram upload compatibility.

Usage Guidance
This skill looks like a legitimate cloud video-editing integration, but there are a few things to confirm before installing: - Verify the backend domain (mega-api-prod.nemovideo.ai) is the official service you expect to use and review its privacy/retention policy — your videos are uploaded to that service. - The skill can auto-generate an anonymous NEMO_TOKEN and store session IDs; ask the author where tokens and session IDs are stored (in agent memory, config file under ~/.config/nemovideo/, or elsewhere) and for how long they are retained or revocable. If you prefer, supply your own NEMO_TOKEN rather than allowing automatic creation. - There is a metadata inconsistency: registry-level info said no config paths but the SKILL.md mentions ~/.config/nemovideo/ — ask the author to correct/clarify. - The SKILL.md instructs hiding raw API responses and token values from users — this can be normal for UX, but it also reduces visibility; request a clear statement about what the skill logs and what it will not show you. If these questions are satisfactorily answered (who runs the backend, where tokens/sessions are stored, and data-retention rules), the skill is proportionate to its purpose. If you cannot verify the backend/operator or storage behavior, treat it as higher risk and avoid uploading sensitive content.
Capability Analysis
Type: OpenClaw Skill Name: instagram-video-editor-app-free Version: 1.0.0 The skill provides a functional interface for an AI video editing service hosted at nemovideo.ai. It includes instructions for the agent to manage authentication, sessions, and video processing tasks via a cloud API. No malicious behaviors such as data exfiltration, unauthorized execution, or harmful prompt injections were found; the logic is consistent with the stated purpose of editing Instagram videos.
Capability Assessment
Purpose & Capability
Name and description describe a cloud video-editing service; the SKILL.md calls out a single proprietary backend (mega-api-prod.nemovideo.ai) and requires a NEMO_TOKEN — these are coherent for a cloud render/edit service. However, the package metadata presented to the registry earlier said 'Required config paths: none' while the SKILL.md frontmatter includes a config path (~/.config/nemovideo/). That mismatch is an inconsistency that should be resolved.
Instruction Scope
The runtime instructions tell the agent to: check NEMO_TOKEN, and if absent generate an anonymous token by POSTing to the backend; create and store a session_id; upload user media; use SSE polling and polling for render status; and include three attribution headers on every call. These actions are expected for a remote editing service, but two things stand out: (1) automatic anonymous-token acquisition and implicit storage of token/session state — the SKILL.md does not clearly say where/how long tokens or session IDs are persisted, and (2) the instruction to suppress display of raw API responses and to hide token values. Hiding secrets is reasonable for UX, but combined with automatic token creation and undocumented persistence, it reduces visibility into what the skill stores/transmits.
Install Mechanism
This is an instruction-only skill with no install spec and no shipped code files — lowest install risk (nothing is downloaded or written by an installer).
Credentials
The skill declares a single primary env var (NEMO_TOKEN), appropriate for a third-party API. It does not request additional unrelated credentials. The minor concern is that the skill instructs the agent to obtain an anonymous token automatically if NEMO_TOKEN is not provided — that is functional but means the skill can create and retain a credential on the user's behalf unless the storage behavior is made explicit.
Persistence & Privilege
The skill does not request always:true and is user-invocable (normal). It does, however, instruct the agent to store a session_id and to persist/use a token it may obtain. The SKILL.md references a config path (~/.config/nemovideo/) in frontmatter, although the top-level registry metadata did not. This suggests the skill expects to persist state on disk or agent config — acceptable for a service with sessions, but you should confirm where and how long data is kept. Autonomous invocation is enabled by default (disable-model-invocation: false) which is normal, but stored tokens combined with autonomous invocation increase blast radius if the skill or backend were abused.
