Description
convert MOV video files into converted MP4 files with this skill. Works with MOV, MP4, AVI, WebM files up to 500MB. iPhone videographers, Mac users, content...
README (SKILL.md)

Getting Started

Ready when you are. Drop your MOV video files here or describe what you want to make.

Try saying:

  • "convert a 3-minute MOV recording from an iPhone into a 1080p MP4"
  • "convert this MOV file to MP4 without losing quality"
  • "converting MOV files from Apple devices to MP4 for wider compatibility for iPhone videographers, Mac users, content creators"

Automatic Setup

On first interaction, connect to the processing API before doing anything else. Show a brief status like "Setting things up...".

Token: If NEMO_TOKEN environment variable is already set, use it and skip to Session below.

Free token: Generate a UUID as client identifier, then POST to https://mega-api-prod.nemovideo.ai/api/auth/anonymous-token with header X-Client-Id: \x3Cuuid>. The response field data.token becomes your NEMO_TOKEN (100 credits, 7-day expiry).

Session: POST to https://mega-api-prod.nemovideo.ai/api/tasks/me/with-session/nemo_agent with Bearer auth and body {"task_name":"project"}. Save session_id from the response.

Confirm to the user you're connected and ready. Don't print tokens or raw JSON.

Converter MOV — Convert MOV Files to MP4

This tool takes your MOV video files and runs video format conversion through a cloud rendering pipeline. You upload, describe what you want, and download the result.

Say you have a 3-minute MOV recording from an iPhone and want to convert this MOV file to MP4 without losing quality — the backend processes it in about 20-40 seconds and hands you a 1080p MP4.

Tip: shorter MOV clips under 2 minutes convert in under 30 seconds.

Matching Input to Actions

User prompts referencing converter mov, aspect ratio, text overlays, or audio tracks get routed to the corresponding action via keyword and intent classification.

User says... Action Skip SSE?
"export" / "导出" / "download" / "send me the video" → §3.5 Export
"credits" / "积分" / "balance" / "余额" → §3.3 Credits
"status" / "状态" / "show tracks" → §3.4 State
"upload" / "上传" / user sends file → §3.2 Upload
Everything else (generate, edit, add BGM…) → §3.1 SSE

Cloud Render Pipeline Details

Each export job queues on a cloud GPU node that composites video layers, applies platform-spec compression (H.264, up to 1080x1920), and returns a download URL within 30-90 seconds. The session token carries render job IDs, so closing the tab before completion orphans the job.

Base URL: https://mega-api-prod.nemovideo.ai

Endpoint Method Purpose
/api/tasks/me/with-session/nemo_agent POST Start a new editing session. Body: {"task_name":"project","language":"\x3Clang>"}. Returns session_id.
/run_sse POST Send a user message. Body includes app_name, session_id, new_message. Stream response with Accept: text/event-stream. Timeout: 15 min.
/api/upload-video/nemo_agent/me/\x3Csid> POST Upload a file (multipart) or URL.
/api/credits/balance/simple GET Check remaining credits (available, frozen, total).
/api/state/nemo_agent/me/\x3Csid>/latest GET Fetch current timeline state (draft, video_infos, generated_media).
/api/render/proxy/lambda POST Start export. Body: {"id":"render_\x3Cts>","sessionId":"\x3Csid>","draft":\x3Cjson>,"output":{"format":"mp4","quality":"high"}}. Poll status every 30s.

Accepted file types: mp4, mov, avi, webm, mkv, jpg, png, gif, webp, mp3, wav, m4a, aac.

Skill attribution — read from this file's YAML frontmatter at runtime:

  • X-Skill-Source: converter-mov
  • X-Skill-Version: from frontmatter version
  • X-Skill-Platform: detect from install path (~/.clawhub/clawhub, ~/.cursor/skills/cursor, else unknown)

Include Authorization: Bearer \x3CNEMO_TOKEN> and all attribution headers on every request — omitting them triggers a 402 on export.

Error Handling

Code Meaning Action
0 Success Continue
1001 Bad/expired token Re-auth via anonymous-token (tokens expire after 7 days)
1002 Session not found New session §3.0
2001 No credits Anonymous: show registration URL with ?bind=\x3Cid> (get \x3Cid> from create-session or state response when needed). Registered: "Top up credits in your account"
4001 Unsupported file Show supported formats
4002 File too large Suggest compress/trim
400 Missing X-Client-Id Generate Client-Id and retry (see §1)
402 Free plan export blocked Subscription tier issue, NOT credits. "Register or upgrade your plan to unlock export."
429 Rate limit (1 token/client/7 days) Retry in 30s once

Reading the SSE Stream

Text events go straight to the user (after GUI translation). Tool calls stay internal. Heartbeats and empty data: lines mean the backend is still working — show "⏳ Still working..." every 2 minutes.

About 30% of edit operations close the stream without any text. When that happens, poll /api/state to confirm the timeline changed, then tell the user what was updated.

Backend Response Translation

The backend assumes a GUI exists. Translate these into API actions:

Backend says You do
"click [button]" / "点击" Execute via API
"open [panel]" / "打开" Query session state
"drag/drop" / "拖拽" Send edit via SSE
"preview in timeline" Show track summary
"Export button" / "导出" Execute export workflow

Draft JSON uses short keys: t for tracks, tt for track type (0=video, 1=audio, 7=text), sg for segments, d for duration in ms, m for metadata.

Example timeline summary:

Timeline (3 tracks): 1. Video: city timelapse (0-10s) 2. BGM: Lo-fi (0-10s, 35%) 3. Title: "Urban Dreams" (0-3s)

Common Workflows

Quick edit: Upload → "convert this MOV file to MP4 without losing quality" → Download MP4. Takes 20-40 seconds for a 30-second clip.

Batch style: Upload multiple files in one session. Process them one by one with different instructions. Each gets its own render.

Iterative: Start with a rough cut, preview the result, then refine. The session keeps your timeline state so you can keep tweaking.

Tips and Tricks

The backend processes faster when you're specific. Instead of "make it look better", try "convert this MOV file to MP4 without losing quality" — concrete instructions get better results.

Max file size is 500MB. Stick to MOV, MP4, AVI, WebM for the smoothest experience.

H.264 codec gives the best balance of quality and file size when exporting.

Usage Guidance
This skill appears to be what it says: a thin wrapper for a nemovideo.ai cloud conversion API. Before installing, consider: (1) Privacy — uploaded videos are sent to https://mega-api-prod.nemovideo.ai; do not upload sensitive content unless you trust the service and understand its retention/processing policies. (2) Token scope — NEMO_TOKEN grants access to your conversion credits/sessions; prefer using short-lived/anonymous tokens and avoid reusing a broad long-lived token. (3) Local access — the skill may read/write ~/.config/nemovideo/ and may try to detect install paths; if you prefer not to grant filesystem access, avoid installing. (4) Attribution headers — the skill sends X-Skill-* headers on every request; confirm you’re comfortable with that metadata being sent. (5) Test first with non-sensitive sample files and monitor network activity if you want extra assurance. If you need more certainty, ask the publisher for a link to their homepage or privacy/terms before using the skill.
Capability Analysis
Type: OpenClaw Skill Name: converter-mov Version: 1.0.0 The skill is a functional integration for a cloud-based video conversion service hosted at nemovideo.ai. It implements standard API patterns for session management, file uploads, and asynchronous processing via SSE. While it requests access to a specific config directory (~/.config/nemovideo/) and environment variables (NEMO_TOKEN), these are directly related to its stated purpose of video processing, and no evidence of malicious intent, data exfiltration, or unauthorized execution was found.
Capability Assessment
Purpose & Capability
The skill's name/description (convert MOV→MP4) matches the runtime instructions (upload video, call nemovideo.ai endpoints, download MP4). Requesting a single service token (NEMO_TOKEN) is proportionate for a cloud conversion service.
Instruction Scope
Instructions stay within conversion workflow (auth, create session, upload file, SSE for progress, render/export). They also instruct the agent to read the skill's YAML frontmatter and to detect install path (to set X-Skill-Platform) which implies filesystem access; that is plausible for attribution but is broader access than strictly needed for a conversion request and should be noted. The frontmatter also lists a config path (~/.config/nemovideo/) — the registry metadata did not, creating a minor inconsistency.
Install Mechanism
No install spec or code files are present (instruction-only), so nothing is written to disk or downloaded during installation. This is the lowest-risk install surface.
Credentials
Only NEMO_TOKEN is required (primary credential). That aligns with using a remote API. The skill documents how to obtain an anonymous short-lived token via the API. No unrelated secrets or multiple credential types are requested.
Persistence & Privilege
always:false (normal) and autonomous invocation is allowed (platform default). The frontmatter's config path (~/.config/nemovideo/) suggests the skill may read/write local config for tokens or sessions — acceptable for this use-case but worth awareness. The skill does not request system-wide privileges or modify other skills.
How to Use
  1. Make sure OpenClaw is installed (local or Docker)
  2. Run the install command in chat: /install converter-mov
  3. After installation, invoke the skill by name or use /converter-mov
  4. Provide required inputs per the skill's parameter spec and get structured output
